If you don't think that every rock band in the 60's,70's and 80's had underage groupies then I don't know what to tell you
O they all did, it was like the norm almost, lots of dodgy characters in the 70s, Look at Johnny Rotten, called out Saville but did he call out McLaren who had a thing for child pornography?

Imagine having made it to fame and pretending you're a good person, nah mate give us Kanyes music over some fake good boy like Sheeran, not only is it better quality music but it's purely a case of whether the skeletons are in or out of the closet for the celebroscummers.
Kanye's music is hot garbage and I feel like all his fanboy/girls are part of some cult - I've given a go to Ye and Donda, both albums a lot of people gush over, and honestly they're super mid at best.

Maybe it's the culture of celebrity that is the problem.

Putting people on a pedestal just because they are exceptional in a particular field is a bit strange.

Genius being one step away from madness, and all that ...

No, of course not.

Art isn’t about the morality of the person that produced it, it’s about the piece itself.

And where does the line get drawn anyway? It’s like pulling down statues of people from bygone generations who achieved great things and lived by the culture of their era, but are seen as morally reprehensible by todays standards.

Let the market decide whether they want to indulge in a nonces art.

I like a lot of his stuff. Get what you mean about his fanboys though, some proper diehards overrating him in a worshippy kind of way. Think anyone who's too big a fan of any celebrity is someone to avoid in general.

Artists are nuts. It's practically a job requirement. Your boring friends with the two or three kids, the boring jobs and the nice house do not make art of consequence.

As @Jamiednm is saying, art is also history. It's what we have that remains. It's not like we're saints now, so retroactively judging old and dead people by today's cultural standards is more than a little silly. Glass houses and stones, and what not.

It’s a difficult one.

For me, if it’s a solo artist or band member who goes on to commit a horrific crime then I won’t listen to their music any more.

It’s hard to know where to draw the line, though. There’s a band I like called Real Estate and one of their former members left the band due to several allegations of sexual assault. I don’t think he was ever convicted, but he pretty much admitted he’d done wrong. I still listen to the band, but I no longer listen to his solo work. I don’t think it’s fair to penalise the other band members for someone else’s actions. In some cases, though (one of which already mentioned in this thread), it’s just not possible to continue listening to their work.

I’ve heard from someone who’s in the music scene up here that they’re horrors apparently.

Stole a lot of ideas from another band on the Isle of Man and pay the rest of the band a pittance.

They got suspiciously massive overnight for me not to think something weird is going on with them.

Before I even heard their music they were all over social media.

I believe all of that. From watching Idles (lol) and wanting to form a band in 2019, to supporting Harry styles in 2023

And other band seems to want anything to do with them, very suspect

That's very similar with my gf with Matt. It's even spoilt Real Estate for her, they were by far one of her favourite bands and she doesn't listen to them much at all anymore

Early ducktails was great too

Not my cup of tea but alright music in general really. Way overhyped by those knobs as you say tho
