Transfer Rumour Sergio Agüero

I honestly don't know what's funnier about all this Aguero talk. The idea that he'd even look twice at us or the fact that some blues would seriously turn their noses up at him!
Some aren't just swayed by the name and realise he's aging 33 and injuries have been an issue recently, we have a lot of injury prone players. It isn't about turning my nose up, he's a fantastic player but his wages will also be extortionate to sit in the treatment room half the time. and most strikers as they age lose bits of the things that make them great. There are exceptions of course.

He could spend half his time in the treatment room here and he'd still make more impact and score more goals then pretty much everyone else at the club. Its the same argument people made about Rooney being past it before he came in and scored more goals and made more contributions then anyone else in 17-18.

Its doesn't really matter anyway tbh because Aguero wouldn't come here in a billion years. The powers that be at the club would be five mins into their presentation to him before the lad stopped laughing and gave us a two word response that began with an F and ended with an F.

tbf Aguero would be excellent back up for Tosun. They could take it in turns to be main injured player for the season.

I'm pretty sure Aguero will have better offers than a crap 8th placed Everton to consider.
I think he will get better offers, not necessarily from premier clubs, but maybe Spain, where he can relax more on the field and get more seasons playing, rather than staying here in the much more physical tougher environment. He’s been a great player as well as as a great scorer but he’s on the way down now.

But when we already have Jame3s in the treatment room and others regularly picking up injuries it doesn't make sense. everyone has moaned all year about our injury situation and you want us to sign a 33 year old on over 100k a week. Again nothing to do with his ability he's class but other considerations need to be taken into account

He's always missed a lot of games or been less than 100% due to injury. This tends to get worse as players age.

If we just needed some goal return here and there he'd be a great pickup on a short-term deal. However, what we need is someone dependable that can pick up the slack when DCL is injured or out of form, and ideally can play multiple positions. Aguero's a great player, but doesn't tick the boxes.

Not the age thats the issue for me its just the injuries. It's okay having 1 or 2 that you know will miss X amount of the season, but having James and Aguero both missing for large chunks is not productive. Even if Aguero played 20 games for us in a season, that's likely to be 8-12 goals more bceause of how good he is, but for those chances to be made James would need to be on the pitch too as we have seen this season... which wouldn't happen for 20 games of a season. City have known they'd probably not have him fit for 40-50 games a season for years, but hes that good hes worth the cost. If we had a great squad and needed that extra firepower for half the season I'd take him all day long.

I still wouldn't complain if we did end up with him, Aguero could play on crutches and still be the best finisher about. I'm just not bothered if we weren't keen either. I tihnk both sides have pros and cons to it and the question would be, do we have the quality already to be able to miss him for long periods? No, so if we go and spend money on a striker it needs to be someone who can deliver for 30/40 games.

Personally be surprised if we target a striker as a priority anyway. King will go and we'll bring someone in im sure but have to assume RW, RB and midfield are the prorities. If us idiot fans can see the problems in midfield when Allan/Doucs arent both on, then CA and MB will see it.

Why not, play him in 12 games. We are trying to take over the South America market and this will finish the trifecta.

I dont think signing Kun shud be seen as a player lookingfor retirement package. Kun has been victim of PEp's obsession with midfielders . From ibra to DAvid Villa to Etoo , i have rarely seen Pep being a big fan of strikers ( Lewa being an exception) . HE is more of a team full of midfielders and false 9 or whatever that maniac tries to complicate football :D :p . My point is , Kun still has a lot to offer and we shud pick him up before chelsea or someone else take him . On a free, he is a no brainer .

Oh, I would not be against buying Kun.

His recent injury record would be a worry by he is a darn sight better than owt we have at the moment.

Ermmm......back to the stadium thread and get your nose back in that humble pie !
The stadium thread where I stated all along that I wouldn't believe a football club with 4 failed stadium attempts behind it until the first spade went in the ground?

Ok.
