Serious Question

I was gonna post a similar thread. I remember when Moyes put 6 defenders on and fans went made against Spurs. Think we won our next game after that. I can remember fans annoyed that we didn't try for win at Emirates in 2013, now look at us. Nobody expects us to thrash teams every week, I just get sick and tired of continual mediocrity. As someone said previously viewing Duncan Ferguson as a legend, is a typical example of some of our fans mentality. I think up until 09 Moyes did the best he could do with squad at his disposal. However I'd argue he could of done better in the last few years he was at Everton. What have we achieved recently, got to 1 final in 25 years. Granted I was happy when prevented RS winning league at GP, but we didn't have 1 proper chance that game. We had to wait 14 years to beat RS at home. Teams like West Brom, Palace and West Ham have beaten them countless times. What can fans do, well stop mocking fans and abusing fans who protest. All the morons who gave fans for walking out, you are partly responsible for this nonsense.

Rubbish
Those fans don't make the decisions either

What kind of question is this? Have you FOLLOWED Everton the last 3 decades? We've been a non-entity for the majority of the last 3 decades with our supporters clapping the main culprit when others tried to show them the light. People are saying "Dyche shouldn't even be considered to be sacked" but he's done NOTHING to improve how the team plays. "Oh, we have NO money" we've spent like 70m this summer ffs.

We've sold about £70mill summer too

To the OP, truly a sign of how far we've fallen.

I'm lost with Everton. Wasn't even an ounce of excitement about Saturday for me.

Under Moyes we'd occasionally get a pasting at home, can recall a Bolton 4-0, and a few others but you'd walk out the ground angry.

Feel years of neglect from the former chairman, years of rash actions by the current owner and hit after hit of bad news have just worn me down.

There was always a hint of bias towards the Big 3, Top 4 etc but of late it just feels blatant. As an Everton fan, where's the direction? We can't win the league, the domestic cups are monopolised by the bigger clubs nowadays.

Walked out the ground as soon as tjey brought Holgate on, heard the 3rd go in.

Didn't feel annoyed, it felt inevitable. Watching Everton for me, I'd not enjoyable at the moment. But for my son, I'd seriously consider jacking it in after the season.

Started supporting them 1968 cup final ( they lost ) apart from a blimp in the 80's use to them losing now with the occasional happier moment like last years Goodison Derby all watched from afar

Yeh, well put and understandable you feel like that

When they clapped Kenwright against Villa.
The best thing about that was the advent of the term "happy clapper". The simplicity of it is amazing. People with happy faces clapping away. They're happy, they're clapping, they're happy clappers.

When you add it to the classic picture of Kenwright smiling, it's a great thing to think about and always makes me chuckle.

When did EFC supporters become so passive to this dross……dont you care anymore?

It’s like partaking in the democratic process. No matter how engaged you are, you eventually realise you have absolutely zero influence on things and just have to learn to accept the sad state of affairs.

I don’t agree with any of that really I know people like to pretend everything we’ve done in our history before 1995 was amazing and it’s only since then that we’ve accepted mediocrity but it’s just wrong we’ve always had times like this loads of Everton legends never won anything that’s not a new thing. I’ve seen so many people say we should NEVER EVER EVER lose to Brighton but it’s crap got loads of reasons I mean 50 years ago we lost twice to Carlisle that’s how football goes.

buddies u choose if u follow the sports team. if it makes u feel super sad and say crazy things then be adult and put energies and energies and worth into better things like a big boy.

She says no too often to do that. So...

Whilst is commendable to live and breathe NSNO, it’s at odds with what Everton are. We have a romantic notion because of our bias that Everton are still a force in the footballing world and a sleeping giant, but reality is we’re also rans who are three decades without winning anything.

That’s a harsh reality but we can’t manifest success by just demanding it. It’s a complex process of lots of strategies and staff coming to fruition, helped sometimes by luck.

If you still demand the very best for Everton then sound, in fact well in. I wish I did. Fans are gonna think differently to other fans so we shouldn’t expect a homogenous Everton support really, but each to their own.

I really hope at some point it clicks but the way the league is now and how far behind we are it will take something remarkable to get past the limiting controls in place to challenge sustainably. A lucky blip will do for a start though.

This is easily the most barren spell in Everton history though. We won at least one trophy in every decade from the 1890s to the 1990s, other than a lull in the 1940s and 1950s (which coincided with the Second World War).

This barren spell since 1995 is by far the club’s longest dry patch. So barren in fact, that it almost rivals DaveK’s.
