Sheedy on Moyes

Ok. I come to to conlusion this is all about book sales, which is all a bit pathetic really.

The mythical ' Everton way' gets less and less believable every day.

Moyes CAN manage teams...but not ones with real ambition. But he earned 4 million quid a year at Everton and 5million at United. That is OBSCENE money. Live by the sword , die by it.

I dont want this mythical (unsuccessful) "Everton way". I want a successful club that doesnt fit into a "nicey nicey" image that we've been lumbered with for too long.

This is simply a personal opinion by a respected member of staff and successful Everton player. Neville Southall gives them every week - I want to see more ruthlessness, less worry about what people will think.

In all seriousness I think Sheedy hasnt a clue how Twitter works and thinks its something similar to Facebook where only his followers can see his tweets and interactions are messages or something like that.

I still have no problem with seeing real opinions from real people rather than media friendly nonsense where we fit to a stereotype created by the very man we're not supposed to be slagging off.

its the Blackburn game that sticks in my mind. Barkley plays well for the first two games of the season, but tracks back and gives away a penalty, in the EXACT same way Gareth Barry did last week in our biggest game of the season, and he's hauled off IMMEDIATELY after they took it, and we dont see him for nearly a year. Absolutely terrible man management, especially considering the utter jokes we had in midfield (a combination of heitinga, neville, osman, rodwell and an over the hill Tim Cahill).

Would that have happened to Gareth Barry last week if Moyes was still manager? of course not. It never happened when Neville or Hibbert gave away numerous goals by backing off players and letting them put crosses in.

Someone mentioned that Roberto doesn't give Barkley the defensive responsibility of central midfield. Which implies there is an opportunity for even one of the 11 players on the pitch to see something other than defence as his number 1 priority. Fancy that eh? I didn't even realise that was allowed in football til this season....

Strange. I guess Sheedy must have wondered what the point of running an U18 side was if there was no prospect of his fledglings getting anywhere near the first team. Are Kev and Irvine about the only non-medical staff that Davey didn't take to United with him?

I've heard from various sources that life at Everton was miserable under Moyes and that it's so much more relaxed and happier these days.

It's exactly as it should be for Roberto to sit in the stands at Goodison with his cuppa watching the next generation play. Did Martinez move the fixtures there from local non-league stadia?

He's rumoured to be another who's not a massive fan of Moyes

Well, there you go.

Moyes fans will dismiss these as ramblings of disgruntled employees, but there is more than enough smoke to go with this fire.

It does make me laugh though the amount of people who'll come out and say these things, given that some of us where all but lone voices in voicing these criticisms whilst he was still at the club.

Oh aye, it's all done to promote his book. Yeah, right.

Good job nobody else is criticising Moyes at the moment... oh, hang on...

The book is a massive red herring. It is convenient timing for sure, but the stories about Moyes ignoring the youth set up have been around for ages and ages.

Part of Martinez' remit when he came into the club - besides the obvious of keeping all the plates spinning, so to speak, was to improve the link between the youth team and the first team. The obvious implied subtext was that things COULD BE IMPROVED, which after 11 years of Moyes, you'd think would already be sorted out if everything was fine and dandy.

This was well documented in the transcript of Martinez meeting the fans websites late last year.

I think writing off what Sheedy has said as a publicity stunt for his book is a) inaccurate; b) disrespectful to an Everton legend still at the club and in a key role; c) ignoring that he was somebody who was responding to fans questions on Twitter; d) ignoring that what was said is based in fact; and e) is ignoring that it is no different to many other people's criticisms of Moyes both at Everton and currently at United.

I know there is a tendency from some Evertonians to not appear to be bitter towards Moyes because he stablised the club and did improve it, but I do not believe this is all something being said to disregard the good he did. Yes, we know he did a lot of good stuff. But he also suppressed a lot of stuff getting out of the club. People were afraid of him, because he basically had near total autonomy towards the end - which led to him basically taking the proverbial out of the club when it came to contract talks and basic lies about his knowledge of Man Utd's interest and offer to him, as confirmed in Ferguson's book, stated as being many months before the end of the season and at odds with Moyes own public words.

Who can forget the ultra-arrogant:

We're long past the point of giving Moyes a dignified benefit of the doubt. He burnt his bridges in the summer and the gloves are off. They've been off for months.

Absolutely spot on mate, Sheedy one of the best and most successful players the club has had, airs his views about a disgusting man who some of our fans thought was a god and next minute the dignified holier than the holiest are taking the side of Moyes.

I'm disgusted, honestly, Sheeds lead the way mate your a LEGEND, about time someone displayed a bit of heartfelt passion but the nice brigade won't like that, oh no, that's not the Everton way

I only ever tell it like it is Tubey lid.
