Saw him play against Oxford United away a couple of seasons ago in a pre-season friendly. He was the best player on the pitch, you don't get to be a German U21 international without being a good player. A bit small for a centre back but would have developed into a very good defensive midfield player - quick across the ground and read the play very well.

Was sh*t that day by the look of things, but he's one of the best in the Bundesliga and there's a really high goalkeeper standard over there.
