So to be clear about "negative" Martinez versus Walker.

Martinez's Everton have played just under twice the number of games of Walker yet scored three times the number of goals that Walker's Everton did.

We are not "toothless".

We've scored (this season) the same number of goals as Walker with 10 games to spare!

We are conceeding stupidly and not using possession well.

A CB and winger will shore up the squad and put the frighteners on the players.

SHAPE UP OR SHIP OUT.

We take too many gambles in our own half.
Don't think we have the energy to press teams

We pressed Newcastle away with Baines and McCarthy pushing up from midfield and Kone from the front and were instrumental in forcing them to play it back to the goalie. It changed in the second half when McCarthy went off.

It was not for long though and its been sporadic this season

If we play any combination of Besic, McCarthy and Baines - preferably all 3 add Ossie/Pienaar/Barkley/Oviedo/Naismith in there, then we can play a high energy game. But the front 3 also have to move quick to close down. Granted it has been sporadic but Martinez tried it at Newcastle and in the second half against Hull.

The problem is though he plays barry who looks out of it at the moment.
Even against hull and newcastle we were poor and disjointed.
Martinez needs to go back to the drawing board

Won't happen

More of the same till he's sacked

Moyes was a pragmatist, a realist.

But he's just beaten Barca.

perhaps it's the total Nightmare of what we see unfolding before us at goodison currently that justified his outlook.
