For me the only thing keeping him in a job is the Europa League results.

Like everyone else I can't see BK getting rid but if we lose to Newcastle ,Hull and West Ham ( entirely possible on current form ) his position may become untenable.

I desperately want to see him succeed but how much longer is it going to take before he realises that players must be played in their correct positions , Barry is not undropable , that there is a time when we need to be direct and when we pass we must move the ball quicker?

'intelligent and respectful debate'.

I can't think of a single reason to sack Martinez at the moment, you are always entitled to voice your opinion in a decent way, but i'm massively surprised at some of the comments here.

I knew a few Norwich fans who roughly at this time last season said Hughton was the right man for the job and the club should stick with him and he'd get them safe.

Turns out he wasn't the right man for the job and he didn't get them safe, by the time they made the change it was too late.

Not advocating Martinez being sacked now, just an example. Stick with Martinez and he very well may have us go on a winning run from now on and we finish 5th. But he could quite easily not be the right man for the job and failing to act till it's too late would be a mistake.

But at which point do we say he's not the right man for the job? 13th place? 16th place? bottom 3 in early April? Relegation?

I think his priority is the Europa, if he wins that - i'm going to resurrect a mountain of cat gifs in equal measures to the amount of ridicule aimed at him.

We're doing well enough in the Europa at the expense of league form, kind of like he did with Wigan, worrying in one sense - good in another, but what will make me worry is he totally discards league form for the Europa.

Moyes got sacked at United not because the fans or the board wanted him out, he lost his job because the players wanted him out.

So its not about what we the fans want, it doesn't matter anyway and as for the board, Bill is not the type who sacks managers and last year he was a big fan of Martinez.

So its down to the players, if he lost the dressing room or some players have issues with him, then he is as good as gone.

All the signs indicate that there is something not right behind the scene, Martinez looks lonely on the touchline.

If we lose the next 2 games (2 away games in few days) it will get interesting.
Not necessarily. The first thing Utd did at the end of the season was get rid of the senior pros who caused the trouble for Moyes.

Bill would just let Roberto get rid of them. I don't think he's even close to losing the dressing room. I think the players have just run out of ideas. The effort was there against Stoke and on another day we could have scored 3 but there just doesn't seem the movement.

You are joking surely. Let me give you one -- Lukaku £28m. Another, showing no signs of even recognising the core problems, never mind fixing them. Is there any need to go on?

Its his second season.

Garbutt
Stones
McCarthy
Besic
Lukaku
Mirallas
Barkley

Play them -- wheel and deal the rest in Jan and get cash from the TV money.
We don't need huge changes. Just a few older players need moved on and a few positions like GK and LW need new players.

I agree that should be the base of the team for the future but we can't afford to do it in one window.

I don't think we'll get close enough for it to be an issue. We're on a bad run but we still should have beat Stoke and will pick up enough points over the season.

I don't really care now. We aren't getting top 4, we won't be relegated and I'm torn whether I would want Europa again.

Keeper
Winger
Centre back

All first choices.....then also need some more squad players too.

You'll probably think this crazy, but part of me thinks Moysey promoted Jags to captain because he knew Jags isn't a natural and vocal leader. Moyes knew he was going from around early January and yet one of his final acts was to make Jags club captain... And Martinez and everyone else for that matter simply went along with it.

No disrespect to Jags, but the new manager should have talked to him and said, "Moyes has gone, I'm the manager and you have to expect me to decide who will be the club captain, and if I choose to change it from you to someone else, accept it as my decision and not a personal slight on you."

The even worse thing right now is that doesn't appear to a genuine captain amongst the squad.
Jags is a good captain from a media and PR perspective plus England's First choice CB. I wouldn't be reading anything into it.

He should make McCarthy captain and signal to everyone that the Moyes days are over and no one is bigger than the club or guaranteed a place.

It really did annoy me that at the red card decision Jags was nowhere to be seen and we look leaderless on the pitch.

The slump would have come at some point anyways...so better now that we have time to fix it...Especially europe in mind
That's one or the only positives. If we can sort it out then we might just hit form at the right time.

It's just depressing the league season is over and we aren't even at new year.

Go back and look at the game yesterday lad and look at what we did in the second half when we didn't have the ball. We stood off every Stoke player by around 5 yards. It's is a totally different tactic to what he had us doing when he arrived. We had a high intensity possession game. Now its slow and are u telling me that teams now fear coming to goodison even when it's under lights. It doesn't bother them one bit and results show that. I'm asking you to get back to me after the next 2 results because I think we are going to get beat up in newcastle. I'm not saying he should get the sack I'm saying he needs to increase the intensity get the crowd back on side. He's losing them. Look at the empty seats at end of match. Get a reality check
Like Utd last season there's a few teams licking their lips coming to Goodison the way they did Old Trafford.

We hammered Stoke 4-0 last year do I bet Hughes was happy.
