Baines out replaced by Garbutt
Jagielka out replaced by Van Dijk
Gibson / Kone out for whatever pennies
Howard couple of mil to MLS replaced by Butland
McGeady out replaced by Deulofeu

Alcaraz / Distin / Osman / Hibbert etc off at the end of the season

Coming at it from the other direction, if it was my decision to make the following would never put on an Everton shirt again:

Distin
Jagielka
Osman

Their attitude stinks and they're not up to the task of playing for us. If I was manager they'd be sitting at home now looking for a new club.

Can't believe this! Palace have beaten us to the first sacking of the year! FFS Martinez sort it out!!!

I don't remember any mass hilarity of the supporters at this as you call it 'joke' last season....even the p/poor elements of the media were heralding RM's approach. People need to calm down...put some Pampers on and realise that these players don't turn to water overnight. We need to get the ones returning from injury up to speed then think about the ones that need to go.
Go back and look at the game yesterday lad and look at what we did in the second half when we didn't have the ball. We stood off every Stoke player by around 5 yards. It's is a totally different tactic to what he had us doing when he arrived. We had a high intensity possession game. Now its slow and are u telling me that teams now fear coming to goodison even when it's under lights. It doesn't bother them one bit and results show that. I'm asking you to get back to me after the next 2 results because I think we are going to get beat up in newcastle. I'm not saying he should get the sack I'm saying he needs to increase the intensity get the crowd back on side. He's losing them. Look at the empty seats at end of match. Get a reality check

So, with 5 hours left for this poll to go, the message from 4/5ths of the forum is 'pipe down FFS'.
I saw you said Jagielka's attitude stinks mate. What are you basing this on. I always thought he had a good attitude. Heard Murmurings about Osman and Distin though.

A quick glance at the poll results here suggest most folk are prepared to be patient.

The key is, how long are we patient for? Remember Moyes 17th place in his second season? He still got time and went on to improve us - Martinez can do the same.

I don't think he should be sacked now.

But just because Moyes was given time and turned it around that doesn't mean Martinez will.

Someone earlier said it was kopite behavior to want the manager out after a few bad results. I'd say its also kopite behavior to bury your head in the sand, praise the manager and say everything will be alright.

If Martinez isn't the right man for the job he needs to go. Now, not after being given more time to do even worse. But i'm not saying he isn't the right man, it's hard to tell at the moment.

Up till about the Spurs game you could look at other things and say they were the reason for us not doing too great. But since Spurs we've been pretty awful and the main reason appears to be the way the manager is having us play.

Is he an arrogant tit who is obessed with his "philosophie" that football should be played a certain way regardless of if it works? Or is he a good manager going through a bad spell due to injuries and loss of form from players? I don''t think its much of the latter now, we don't have that many injuries and half the reason for a players form (or lack of) is how the manager has them playing.

I think he might just be stuck at the moment and unsure of himself, and i have no idea if he'll get us back to the team we were last season or if he'll turn us into Wigan.

I just dont like his attitude as a captain. I'm not saying he's disruptive, just that he doesn't lead. He seems to have no influence on this team and losing doesn't seem to get to him at all. Look at the way Eto'o reacted yesterday: running dead balls down, picking them up and slamming them into the body of time wasting Stoke players and getting into arguments with Shawcross and the ref over it. The feller's a great example of a winner and a top pro. On top of that Jagielka is just not good enough to give a lead. His performances have been very scrappy for ages.

Who do you think youre talking to "lad" with your "get a reality check" etc. Im 57 bleedin years of age and have seen more bad times at Everton than you so calm down. I was at the game yesterday and of course it was garbage.... and the players have been standing off the opposition long before yesterday....Ive been on here complaining about us not closing down enough before. The poll was about whether or not he should be sacked. I don't do knee jerk...even Stevie Wonder could see he needs to get the crowd on side. Oh yeah...and where the hell did I mention sides being afraid to come to Goodison and under the lights.

Your right about jags.
The question is who should be captain because we deffo lack leaders.

I think that's fair.

Sorry I wasn't having a go. It would be obvious to assume Martinez might be losing some of the more senior pro's this season and I wondered if Jags was one.

I agree with your analysis. I think he has had some good games too, but I am not sure he is a natural Martinez style defender. I think you are also right that he is not a natural leader. If you compare him to Neville (who everyone hated) there's no doubt to me Neville was more of a natural leader than Jagielka.

The poll shows we don't think Martinez should be sacked. Put up a poll to see if we think the tactics should change. I think we might find we want him to show he can adapt to different situations and plan accordingly

I get your point, after they scored it was Lukaku trying to lift the team, not Jags.
