just one quick question, what has happened to davek?

The same as to every other Evertonian. We have all been pummelled to within an inch of our lives by the current issues affecting the club and the seeming inability to address and alter the system for the betterment of results.

i didnt understand... i think...
what i ment was:
that it's refreshing to see that our davek is the voice of reason here ffs. in the most darkest hour the hero raises up and tells bellends to stop being bellends and so on. bows to davek.

it's hardly our darkest hour Finners

Playing players out of position and the general confusion it's causing is there for all to see. The defending has been nothing short of crap.

Martinez has shown he can change the system. Look at the season Wigan were all but down and out and then he changed to a back three and went on a winning run, resulting in them staying up.

The one small positive about yesterday was that it showed that most people on here talk utter tripe and know nothing about football.
Baines in midfield
Garbutt is the answer
Drop Howard
Drop Lukaku
All ideas that many on here were clammering for.

Well guess what lads?
I must be the only one that thought Kone an improvement over the incredible Lukaku then

No - he shouldn't, we've been given high standards by him. It's no surprise that having set such high standards the people are being highly critical of him, footy is about results its that simple.

I always maintained i would judge him after 18 months and he is still doing well, just not right now! A defeat this week but he has played some of the squad and players that have been getting closer to the starting 11 that should stay there and keep some of the deadwood out.
  • Distin
  • Osman
  • Pienaar
  • Gibson
  • McGeady
None of these offer consistency anymore, and thats the glaring omission.

It's not dramatically different though. A rational appraisal of it all would conclude that last season's form hasn't been maintained because of the manager's failure to pick a solid formation with shape to it and the woeful form of players in doing the very basics of what a professional player should be expected to do without problem.

That isn't suggesting to me you make a drastic decision on the manager. It's a lot of poor performances that need righting, and we have the space and the time to fix things. I underline again: we've been woeful but we're 12th. We recently went on an unbeaten run of 8 games ending the end of November at Spurs. This is nothing that cant be remedied in short order.

People need to stop running around like their hair is on fire and get behind the manager.

I'd just like to back Dave up fully here. Dave's not scared to throw the criticisms when he feels it necessary, so for him to maintain such a positive and sensible approach to our form and results this season says a lot in my book.

I'm not wishing to stifle debate, by all means let's discuss tactics and individual performances. We can all see the problems on the pitch, we can all wonder about the suggested problems off the pitch (which in the absence of a confirmed source I dismiss), but to call for the sacking of the manager in our current position, he having attracted and retained arguably our best squad in near 30 years, makes no sense at all.

The manager and players need our support not derision. I'm sure the Board of Everton will give him the time to see us right this season and beyond, it's time we collectively did so also.
