One or two next summer.

We need a CB and a Winger.

I'm not talking about signings, I'm talking about the brain that builds a squad and picks a side and sends it out with orders of how to play.
Criticising every part of the club except the manager for the current situation?

Beggars belief.

Apparantly the way to solve the issue is just to buy new players. Forget about how they setup...just buy a CB and winger

At one point yesterday we broke forward them slowly passed the ball to distin without looking forward, who calmly passed it to alcaraz and then finally back to Howard. that was us counter attacking.

I'm sorry but for all people looking for excuses or saying give it time, we ddid so well last year and so badly so far this and the onlydifference each time is the manager. moyes team with the shackles.off got to 72 points. martinez team is now doing badly and only a win against a team that had 0 points away from home and have all three deflect in is the only thing making this situation seem salvageable.

If we were 5 straight losses right now would attitudes be slightly more realistic?

Yes, if you want to rectify the situation and improve our play and options and remove ridiculous errors.

Yes you need to replace those players that are obviously failing.

Starting with Distin.

I'd like to think he thinks if we continue our defending the way we are then there's a chance of relegation... and thus is allowed to go out and fix it by signing a decent first XI centre half in January.

Let's face it, Distin and Alcaraz are gone in the summer so that'd just leave the massively underperforming Jagielka, the wonderful Stones and a new fella... plus youngsters.

You'd expect Pienaar to go in the summer too and by now he MUST know that McGeady isn't anywhere near good enough... So if there is a chance of signing a first XI winger in January, be in on loan or permanent, he must go for it.

He'll sure regret it come end of season when we've failed to secure another clean sheet and get relegated in a freak season.

PS. if we go into next season with Jagielka starting games for us it's going to be another long, boring season. Also, that three year deal for Barry isn't looking too wise any more, is it?

Come on Dave, you've let the players have it, you've let the fans have it, you've laid into some 'people' with 'agendas' so when do you get round to addressing Martinez mate?
I've addressed Martinez's inadequacies all season. The people on here calling for Martinez's head on a plate will tell you that themselves. He's not been at the races in his decision making this season and I've called it every time. What they (and you it appears) cant seem to accept is that the conclusion I arrive at isn't that we should sack a manager who's proven his worth already at this club, it's that we need to give him time to settle this down and work through it in readiness for next season. Thats the rub here: I wont join in the witch hunt when they thought I'd be a shoo-in for it.

Nothing could be further from the truth. I hoped Martinez would be our new manager from the day that ****ing rat Moyes ran down his contract and jumped ship. I've underscored that support every step of the way since June 2013 that he's the right fit for us, and I continue to think the same now. It's called consistency and it's called being loyal. Not blind loyalty - but loyalty based on the evidence that he was the one required to throw open a window on this club last season and let some fresh ideas in. Given time he can complete the remainder of the job.

Boss is Roberto, but Vitor is the dude I wanted first time around. Still think Roberto will turn it round, but if Vitor is interested then go for him.

That would be the Moyes team with Barry, McCarthy, Rom, and the Barca lad then?

So what are these inadequacies you have addressed all season? All I'm after is you apportioning some of the blame for the defensive ballsups to him, because it is him forcing players that cant play the way he wants to play the way he wants and then fail at it. Thats all. I despise the 'titting about at the back' it doesn't fit with the personel on the books, so to continue to try to make it fit with parts that wont do it is utter madness.
I dont want him sacked, I want him to sack off the 'titting about at the back' - its all his choice, its all his decision, its all his stubborness.

Thats all Dave, not snide remarks about underlying agendas, bullying, idiot players, sulking and whatever other drabble you have had a go with repeatedly. Call it fair, lay the blame for the 'titting about at the back' at the only doorstep it can go to.

But it's a system that worked last season. Isn't it fair that a manager should expect them to perform it adequately this season too? The logic is with the manager on this one.

Tbh, though, I have some sympathy with you: while we have a couple of dogs at CB who have deteriorated dramatically and cant do anything other than suck oxygen on the pitch it might be more profitable to limp into the transfer window by asking them not to do hard stuff like find their own players with 10 yard passes and move forward with the ball at their feet. I mean it's unfair really - how can they be expected to do that?

The pair of them need shoeing down the road right now. If I was Martinez I wouldn't even hang about to take a fee for them. Useless pair of ****s.

Both were like a cup final. I was there in 94. I cried. Was on an island off oz listing to it middle of night on a radio with a case of fosters . Brilliant memories. True. That style they play now it's hard to get the crowd going
The crowd in the past was always something you could rely on when the going got tough, but the soporific stuff we play these days would send even the most whipped up GP crowd into a stupor within 10 minutes of kick off. People who were there will tell you that however the games were going against Wimbledon in '94 and Coventry in '99 (?) the crowd never stopped roaring the team on. I'm not sure it would do so again under the current style of play.

Some proper puddin's on here! It's bad but it's fixable. Player errors have cost us the majority of the time this season. Some tightening up at the back and a new CB in Jan could fix that. Tim also needs to stop going on about his record breaking, his meeting with the President and his fecking book. Maybe then we might get 90 mins concentration out of him, the div. Can't be having this Martinez out lark yet though. The guy seems to have the skills needed. Firstly who else would come in? Whoever it was, he'd want his own staff and players in as soon as. We're going through one transition period now. Do we really need to go into another? Knee-jerk reactions. The teams historically that do well are the ones that stick by their managers. It's not Science-Rockets. (Thank you Rushy. Or was it Aldo)? Give the Spaniard his chance ffs. I think he might just surprise a few of yers. Ask this question too... Do you really think Bill is gonna sack the bloke? Unlikely I'd suggest.
