Goes without saying that he should go tonight. However i sincerely hope we don't make the mistake of appointing an interim such as Unsworth and them keep him full time in the summer because of a decent run of results as that rarely seems to work

There is no such thing as a 'cup manager'.

He is employed as manager of Everton FC for all games in all competitions, not just cup games.

If he is only any good in cup competitions, then he's no bloody good for a club who play in arguably the toughest league in the world.
I agree completely. The very idea of a cup manager is an anathema to me. You either win lose or draw games and if this is a cup manager preparing for a sf then heaven help us.

Martinez was never going to quit, but the board are truly to blame. Many were against his appointment, but we were prepared to give him a chance. We desperately hope and pray every Everton manager should be successful, even Mike walker, even though I never liked the guy. Martinez is a decent man, but not up to the job of managing Everton football club. The board should have relieved Roberto of his duties after the semi at City. this is not a knee jerk reaction, tonight's inept performance has been a culmination of nearly 2 years, yes 2 years of poor results in the league. Yes the players must take some blame for our performances, but it has been obvious to many for weeks, that they aren't prepared to play for Martinez anymore. In sharp contrast Liverpool players, looked fitter, hungrier and prepared to run through a brick wall for Klopp, a manager who inspires them. Sadly Martinez doesn't inspire our players and hasn't done for some considerable time.

I've disagreed with your opinion quite a bit Tony, but think you may well be right. It does all add up, and adding in the moment Woods left the stands. Odd for sure, and I do feel for Martinez too. It's not his fault he's here despite his limitations. That's down to the board. The players are equally at fault for downing tools. But the sad cold reality is that the slide must be arrested, and given the downing of tools by the players, what can be addressed, is the manager. I can't see how he can be in charge for even one more training session. It's painful.

If the players have downed tools then they can stick their hands in their pockets and reimburse those that went to the game tonight to witness that debacle.

The club want £750 out of me in the next few weeks or they'll put our 3 seats on general sale, can they say they've given us our moneys worth this season & the majority of the last ?

It's a long way home when you get beat at Wembley, well I'll tell you what it's gonna be a long way there as well after not just tonight's performance but the majority that we've witnessed this season.

I feel a bit sorry for Bobby. When you're the manager and the players turn on you there's no way back. That's what seems to have happened. It's time for him to go. I'd give it to Big Dunc on a temporary basis. He would at least get the players fired up and ready for Saturday.

I don't feel remotely sorry for that multi millionaire who will get millions of pounds for being an abject failure at his job, while I get up at daft o clock tomorrow for sherbert wages, going in to endure remorseless pisstaking by redsh!te, but maybe that's just me, I should feel sorry for Martinez, when he's laughing his cock off on holiday in Dubai.

What is despicable about him ?

I'll tell you if you want mate...

He's a gross egotist with ideas WAY above his station who happens to think he's beyond reproach blame wise for the situation we're in....he deflects rather than accepting accountability on any level and he'll use ANY excuse possible to guide query away from his massively exposed lack of tactical acumen & nouse...

Factor into this that he has drained a decent squad of confidence and his style of play and insistence of playing to his 'philosophy' has made one of the best young defenders in the game look like he learnt to defend abaaaar 20 minutes before kick-off. He has also overseen the purchase of a player so out of his depth that he has fellow pro's feeling sorry for him yet - even now - he cannot be honest about this (is he injured or not? Why's he on the bench?...)

He is a chancer, and a fraud, and a one-trick pony who is about to be found out massively.

And the only way he can gain any kudos from me and many others (i'm sure) like me is by finding the bollocks & the integrity within to resign with immediate effect.

He won't though in all probability. Know why?

Because he's a despicable & self-absorbed fool devoid of the wherewithal to separate the wood from the trees.

He's payed £3 milion ffs. The players tuning on him is a reflection on his lack of managerial ability.

The only thing that might be dded is that the Board are a damned sight worse for allowing him to continue.
