Apple haven't kicked me per se, but given half the chance they will , just like they have done to thousands of users (as have Microsoft). It is all about money, and Microsoft are better at gobbling it all up than Apple are. If you want a virus/ad-ware free PC, you too can have it, and I could show a new user how to be virus/adware free in 10 minutes. If you want a Mac, get one.

I just want people to remember Apple are a big evil corp just like MS. They just aren't as far reaching.....yet.

And as for holes in OSX. I am sure there are plenty, just nobody exploits them.......again, yet!

Chico, your laptop is just fine for what you want it (which I presume is movies and porn ;) ).

Oh, and I am running Windows Server 2003 SP 5. [Poor language removed] sweet piece of software. All the features and usability of XP, none of the problems.

Why have Apple kicked you?

The iPhone is more than just a touch phone.

I have used both Windows and OSX and I had no end of trouble with Windows, and everytime I visit with a friend who has Windows, they have [Poor language removed] loads of apps they don't need which drains the memory. They are chock full of adaware, they need to defrag every month.

The reasons why iMac's are more expensive, and I wouldn't say £800 is expensive for a computer, is because they are better made.

I'm not some Apple evangelist, but I have used both and have based my opinions on my experiences. Apple is used in government buildings, movie production, sports science installations, designers, etc.... The reason? They are robust and easy to use. Ironically, people who want an easy machine to use tend to pick a PC and Windows, which is the reason why viruses spread, and I get called by most of my family asking me to fix their sodding computer.

I just say get an Apple, I will give you a quick ten minute whistle tour and you will be set for the next two years.

 You're one of the biggest Apple fanboys I have ever met! :D

Which isn't a bad thing.

I don't think Apple are the dogs though, Itunes is heavy, the Ipod is only as good or worse than the ones made by creative and the Iphone... well, it will make a phone call right?

I hate this Apple vs. Windows argument, its so petty.... please don't bring up this virus adware thing because its a useless argument, if everyone was to switch to macs tomorrow, then by next week the first set of adware/spyware scanners would be out.

When we bought our new laptop, we could have had vista, but knowing what a new windows OS is like, I forced them to install XP instead, which is now good solid OS unlike a few years ago.

Its also heavy on the system resources chico, and knowing new windows OS's recent past made me think I really don't want the fuss it brings.

For all of the graphical things vista does when you do something as complicated as open a window, I'd rather just stick to how it is now.

A good rule someone once told me, upgrade your windows when microsoft are about to release a new OS. He just moved from 2k to xp and to this date has never had a problem with a windows OS.

Rob, granted the pre-iMac age Quadra's were [Poor language removed]. Our media suite in Uni was a chorus of Mac's restarting after a freeze, and people looking for paper clips to shove into that little restart hole.

All in the past, I haven't had a freeze for 5 years. :)

Yeh thats what I had heard from the recent mac os's, I was trying to get my music on computers part of my course done and it took weeks because every few mins the computer would crash... most of the time they actually crashed just when doing nothing...

I'm not a pioneer though and I'm happy with windows, it does everything I want and it is secure. (all those security updates are mostly idiots clicking links and running a pc without a firewall)

Yeah, I remember there were 15 of us all trying to send a 13mb quark file to the printer server, and it was taking 5 hours from when we pressed print till the time when it actually printed the [Poor language removed]. this was in 1998.

Good times ;)
