Silly Season January 2014

McGeady is being brought in to add to the squad and give competition for places. Mirallas blows hot and cold, Pienaar isn't getting any younger, Del is only on load, Naismith isn't a game changer. I'm pleased, especially if we have got him for a good price.

I striker is needed but RM wouldn't have let Jelavic go with out a plan, I don't think he's that short sighted, in fact, I am positive he's not!!!

Roberto played misdirection with McGeady and I suspect it is just the same here. There will be a striker and CM in this window. One may be on loan. Not ITK, just common sense as the one utterly consistent message has been "we will strengthen in this window"

Hrm, I just watched RM's interview on the BBC and he said two things that are a bit of a concern:

1. We got McGeady now rather than in the summer for free because "with Nicky Jelavic leaving, we felt we needed him now".
2. When asked whether McGeady is likely to be the only signing, he seemed to intimate that there is nobody on the cards but "you always keep looking".

Doesn't sound like that boss £20 million striker we're all hoping for...

Two days ago he said we wouldn't be signing McGeady until the Summer.

Media comments from managers about transfers in the window generally are of zero substance. It's all games.

Bingo.

Just sit back lads and let Bobby please us when he's good and ready.

Also just watched an interview with Steve Bruce where he seems doubtful that they could actually convince Jelavic to move there...

Oriel Riera linked in Daily Mail and Tony Scott on twitter.

No he's a Spanish striker but that's about as far as my knowledge goes!
