What has he given us? 700 posts of rumour and conjecture is exactly what the silly season thread is for.

Have any of his previous posts been how you'd classify 'silly - without substance' if not then frankly their no just conjecture and rumour but have some ITK substance to them or whatever ya wanna call it, either way original poster can't be held to blame for how the thread went into speculation, seems sad though that any thread that goes into a rumor thing will get merged into here, especially if something big does happen this week like

My predictions of business this window are

Out - jelavic heitinga and possibly guaye and vellios.

In - McGeady and the young Belgian striker, a CM on loan and possibly Ince.

Sheedy wasn't ITK. He didn't proclaim to be.

He'd regurgitate what was in the press and people think that's ITK.

The bad bell whiff little curly was even worse for not knowing anything and being as vague as hell.

Davidmoyes is the only one worth listening to.

Dunno why mate, i've got a really sneaky feelign we are gonna come in for De Bruyne out of the blue like, see wolfsburg got linked with Holtby today - makes me think maybe theirs been a last minute hitch or bid on de bruyne him from elsewhere

Ideal situation is Lukaku mystery money is found and he signs, free up a loan spot, get de bruyne in from them ;p

I might get **** on for saying this but...I can see why people would be disappointed if the news is about a new contract for Baines. I love the man (evidently) but is that the sort of news we are genuinely, deep down inside hoping for right now? Judging from the general posts around here at the moment, what the majority are hoping for is new players so we can push on and not fall away into 6th/7th place obscurity.

A contract extension for Baines would be great news. That being said, we're pretty confident of him playing for us at least until the end of the season.

The problem is that the rest of the top teams are all in great form right now. On 23 Dec we were two points off the top of the league. Since then the rest top 6 COMBINED have dropped a total of 2 points to teams outside the top 6 (spurs drew WBA). We have dropped 5 and are picking up a medium term injury seemingly every match. The squad is being stretched to the limit and if we want to stay on the pace we need to be getting 3 points every week the way things are going.

Just like last season, just keeping the players we've got won't be enough to keep withing shouting distance of 4th.
