If it is true maybe he's a cheap stop-gap and we're saving our wedge for Lukaku or his replacement in the summer? Kone will return as our number 2 striker, so whoever we bring in will be number 3.

Typically, I trust the guardian with regards to transfer speculation. But they had Baines nailed on to leave not too long ago, so hopefully they're wrong again.
 
It would make sense if his agent had leaked it to the papers, so lets just hope that's the case ay.
Rather bring chris long back than waste money on Kenwyne!

That's because he was injured. Give him a break at least let him try and make an impact..

As I see it. There is not one shred of evidence that this could be happening.
If it does.... It does.
We will still keep playing football as it should be played. If, and it's a huge random if, Jones signs, then he will have to adept to the way we play.
I was a huge non believer in RM before he came. I couldn't be further from that right now.

This, very much. Granted, at the time it seemed like Kone would be the top option at ST, but clearly that's not Roberto's plan.

Signings since RM takes over:
Alcaraz -- squad player, tutor
Robles -- squad player, understudy and potential replacement
Kone -- squad player,
Deulofeu (loan) -- squad / sub, can grow into XI, loan terms allow 2nd year (seems certain)
Barry (loan) -- XI, potential free signing in summer
Lukaku (loan) -- XI
McCarthy -- XI
McGeady -- squad / sub ?

I don't see anything wrong with any business so far. If RM wants to take a chance on Jones for £1M? NEA.

We aren't signing Jones you pillock, McGeady is decent and Kone can't be judged until he's playing again which won't be till next season. This is why the transfer window should be kept to the summer, preferably until the opening weekend of the season to stop fans having bloody meltdowns at non stories
