Agreed looks handy. Our squad is packing out with so many loans though it would actually be nice to sign a good player long term.

Martinez spoke a few weeks ago about his liking for the loan system, and then when all our loan players return to their clubs in the summer, they will just be replaced with more loan players.

Not overly keen on that kind of strategy to be honest and I do find it a little frustrating seeing quality players, and knowing they aren't really ours and only here for the short term.

I do accept this is the only way we'll get to see a Lukaku or a Deulofeu due to our finances or lack of, and I understand that.

But it doesn't make it any less frustrating.

Loan players are boss.

They are usually either

i) looking to earn a permanent contract at Everton e.g. Pienaar, twice, or

ii) looking to get a first team spot in a superior side e.g. Lukaku.

Either way, we get a player who's desperate to play and to impress for relatively low amounts. It's not ideal, but it's a god send for clubs like us. We should probably look to fill up all our loan slots every year. It's our only hope of competing with the top 4.

We cannot afford to pay a top 4 quality squad year in year out. We need outside help, like City are giving us by paying a huge chunk of Barry's enormous wages.

Surely there would be no excuse for there to be no money in the summer, wouldnt suprise me if they try to find an excuse though
