Silly Season January 2014

There's at least 17 more games to play in this season. I would bet big money on us being reliant on Osman again quite a bit between now and May.

A loan signing would fill the vacuum we have in that position.

Got no loans left now, after Traore.

Board will be ****ting themselves that they have to spend some of the 40m we've sold.

Mirallas and Pienaar are both better there though, we need a proper CM to cover McCarthy/Barry

Oh right, forgot about Big Bird.

A fee must be paid then, because the wheels will fall off this season if we have Osman getting over-run.

It's hard to argue against us needing back-up in CM, if Gibson was fit we wouldn't have this problem.

Let's pray that Bobby pulls a corker out of the bag in the next 10 days.

Gibson cannot be trusted to stay fit.

Barry may still end up elsewhere next season.

We need a new CM.

our big spend this window should be on a centre mid - with barkley and mccarthy we have the future, just need one more to complete the trio......dreams

i HOPE this is why we have cheap option of mcgeady adn a loan striker, could be a last day deal

Agree with needing an extra CM, but i don't think we have any worries about Barry signing.

When I see them they say: ‘You’d better be signing next season!’ Every time! My answer is the same every time: ‘Hopefully! Hopefully!’ That’s a genuine answer.

“From day one, the manager said: ‘I’m not going to put any pressure on you throughout the season.

“We’ll have the conversation in the summer, see how the club feel about you, see how you feel about the club and take it from there.’

“I’m more than halfway through the season now and it couldn’t have gone any better. It’s going to be a nice conversation to be having come the end of the season.’’

Personally i would have been looking to buy a centre forward this window, and loan a central midfielder (to cover for Gibson). We might have to do the opposite now though. We need cover for McCarthy and Barry now, Osman isnt looking up to it.

An obvious lack of creativity and flair last night, barry and mccarthy are both boss but when we've lost barkley and pienaar it shows. Barkley is great at carrying the ball and taking pressure off us but mirallas didnt seem as effective.
Could do with a versatile midfielder !

Pretty much this should have been our attitude in the window. A loan for a player until the summer at ACM was a priority. We haven't done that and that failure came home to roost last night.

Squad has gone from creaking to snapping, too thirds of the way through the transfer window and we,s spent about a couple of mill if that on transfer fees.

The table says we have a great a channce of 4th however in reality we are going up against bigger squads for the 4th place.

Bobby has been brave but he might want to firewall himself if the window slips by and we slip out of contention for the 4th spot.
