Lads Its a maximum of four loan signings per team. Premier League Rules Handbook, Page 194. "Temporary Transfers"

Temporary Transfers
V.5. A “Temporary Transfer” shall mean the transfer of a contract registration effected in
accordance with Rules V.6 to V.10.
V.6. Subject to the conditions set out below, a Temporary Transfer shall be permitted:
V.6.1. between Clubs; and
V.6.2. between a Club and a club in membership of the Football League, the Football
Conference, the Northern Premier League, the Isthmian League and the
Southern League.
V.7. The conditions referred to in Rule V.6 are:
V.7.1. a Temporary Transfer to a Club may not take place in the Transfer Window in which
the Transferor Club acquired the Player’s registration;
V.7.2. during the period of the Temporary Transfer of his contract registration a Player
shall not play against the Transferor Club;
V.7.3. if during the period of a Temporary Transfer the Player’s registration is transferred
permanently from the Transferor Club to the Transferee Club, the two Clubs may
agree in writing (to be copied to the League) that the Player shall not play against
the Transferor Club for the remainder of the Season;
V.7.4. subject to any conditions imposed by the Board in the exercise of its discretion
under Rule V.4.2, the minimum period of a Temporary Transfer shall be the period
between 2 consecutive Transfer Windows and the period of a Temporary Transfer

V.7.5. the maximum number of Temporary Transfers to any one Club registrable in the
same Season shall be 4 and in no circumstances shall more than 1 be from the same
Transferor Club at any one time save there shall be excluded from these numbers

When a player joins a club from an international association, the leagues recognise that player as a new signing. They do not register that player as a loan signing but as a permanent transfer while FIFA recognise the player as being on loan.

It only talks about domestic loans, there is no mention of international loan limit > a loophole

If so then we should exploit this to bring in Canales or other cover. However I think its covered under Temporary Transfers V 6.1 where it covers clubs and then specifies English Clubs in 6.2, with the connotation that the clubs discussed in V6.1 are foreign clubs. going off this therefore V 7.5. still applies limiting us to four total. Thats how I read it anyway

Not much point mate. Rodwell would be injured when he needed to be called upon. And lescott would want first team footy, which we couldn't guarentee him either. (He's also not the player he was)

Time to move on, Martins-indi and less injury prone CM.

You can't go out buying another back up LB because the current LB back up gets injured. Think it could be a little different with Oveido as he can play a few roles so it's more of a loss than normal so another body may be needed.

Distin and alcaraz can both do a job at LB for the odd games here and there, there's also the option of bringing garbutt back for anything more long term.

Martins-indi if we are at all interested in a future deal, bringing that forward would be very wise move especially if heitinga moves on. If he does go for another dedicated LB I'd imagine it could be the young Scottish lad he's been scouting.
