Silly Season January 2014

Lukaku's injury looked a bad one & if as looks likely, he's done his ligaments, then that's him for 8-10 weeks.

Which will force Martinez into the market, let's hope he makes a considered decision as opposed to a last gasp panic buy

If Lukaku is injured for a few months, we'll obviously need to replace him. But we also need a player who can take us to the next level - I seriously doubt we can afford to get both.

So it's a case of stick or twist. We either need assurances Lukaku is ours in the summer, or we need a new striker now.

I can take not signing someone now if Lukaku is a permanent, but that said if that's the case why can't we sign Lukaku now?

I doubt Mourinho will let him leave now or give any assurances - he'll probably want to wait until the end of the season. I also doubt Lukaku would agree to a permanent move without knowing if we'll be in any european competition next season.

Martinez said the squad would be stronger at the end of the window and as it stands now I think it is. The problem is half it is injured or unfit.

We are in a worse situation now in comparison to the deadline day when Straq signed, in my opinion.

Lukaku out
Traore untried
Mirallas Not a natural CF (I know some will quote his goals record in Greece here )
Vellios Hmmmm
