Everything seems so much worse at the moment due to injuries. However there are some obvious holes in the squad. But as it is mainly down to injuries, I'd imagine wages will be more the problem. These injured players still need paying every week.

I'd say its clear we need a striker and a CM and probably a CB if heitinga goes. Martinez suggest that our squad is fine when we get injured players back and tbh I'd agree numbers wise but quality wise I'd disagree.

For me martins-indi or lescott to replace heitinga. Lewis Holtby to cover the midfield and a striker (god knows who)

I genuinely can't see any permenant signings coming in before Friday .. Every team gets injuries that's a given but we have a lot and even with players coming back as you seen with pienaar last night he wasn't match fit so next couple of weeks are going to be tough. Wouldn't be surprised to see a tom ince coming in which would allow mirralas to come into the number 10 role and Barkley drop back into the mid with either Barry or McCarthy should either one get injured but we do need left sided centre half ..

7th shouldn't be the sum of our amibitions though mate, we fell away last season because the board dicked about, utd will spend, the top three will get stronger and if the rs get 4th they will spend bigger again, terrible luck with injuries but it will still be an opportunity missed

Just no. Last year we fell away because we didn't have the quality in depth, for some reason we've got exactly the same opportunity, if not better this season, to get 4th place.

In a way we've been a bit lucky with Spurs not clicking and United being like us. It will not be the same again next season, City are a powerhouse, Chelsea have Mourinho back and just need a striker, Arsenal are well Arsenal, Liverpool with SAS are scoring for fun, United just spent £37m on Mata, will probably get Kroos and someone else in, and who knows in the summer and eventually Spurs will iron out their issues and come good.

We will not be able to compete with the above over the summer, unless we get into the CL group stages which means more money in so we can improve the squad depth to cope with extra European games while getting 4th again.

I said the same last season getting into the CL group stages would be massive for the football club, I wouldn't be arsed if we just tanked it first time round as long as the money was spent on getting a consecutive 4th place finish.

Everyone on these forums, Twitter, the media can identify what players we need where, I'm sure Martinez does as well. We just need to find 4 more Mirallas' at £5m each at the different positions and we'll be sorted. A £20m outlay right now to give the possibility of untold riches next season is worth the gamble especially with Martinez in charge now.

I think a extra European spot opens up should City win the capital one cup.the runners up don't get into Europe .so that up to six places in the league so let's look at advantages of investing even in 2/3 players before Friday .. European qualification and potential in the Europa cup should you win it to go into champions league from next seasons competition .. I stand to be corrected on these facts but I think I got it right so yea lasts nights results was poor and given the fact it was Liverpool makes it worse buts let's get few bodies in regroup and aim for as high as we can ...
