I don't want another Bily that's all
If we spend, I want us spending on someone who isn't worse than the players currently injured- that's the job of youth players like Garbutt being around as 3rd choice RB in worst case scenario
I want us to spend on a player who will benefit the starting 11- no question marks, no mystery potential- someone who can slot in on Saturday at Villa if need be and help us push on.
Though maybe I'm asking for too much.

wether there good or bad we do have players who can play as striker. mirallas vellios naismith
we also have players who can play left back , distin barry garbutt

for me the big issue - not getting another defencive midfielder is sheer madness.

As stated previously, I agree with Davek on the issues raised re: this (and last years) transfer window.

But...

I live in hope that come 11.01pm we will be smiling...and I don't just mean because we don't have to pay another month of heitingas salary!

people really need to understand this, the month of Feb could be worse than last night, if we do not add a striker by the deadline.

I am not messing about here. Naismith will not get it done for the next month, that includes Swansea.

Needs hammering home this point. Of course, a perfectly reasonable argument could be made that this would suit the board of directors to slip out of the European spots. That would necessitate a big enough squad that could cope with the extra responsibility - and they really wouldn't want that now would they? Not when the name of the game is to make a profit from player sales.

everybody knows this.

no need to try to make it more dramatic than it already is.

The board of directors actively roots for the club to be unsuccessful so they can generate profits from player sales. Good one Mulder, you've cracked the case.

Q. Do they make a profit from player sales in transfer windows?

Q. Would qualifying for the EL involve squad spending beyond the normal requirements?

Q. Would buying more and selling less eat into/wipe out profits from player sales?

The truth is indeed out there.

I don't think qualifying for the Europa League will make any difference with regards to squad investment. We will still have the lowest net spend in the league, Europa League or no Europa League.
