We in for him? If so, ace, as he's proper boss lol
Apparently. All the journos saying were in for a midfielder on loan, so looks to be him. Hasn't played much this season think he's been injured.

Here's a thought - are they content to keep the funds in the account for seven more months to accrue interest?
Well that'd be the fourteen years of exactly the same thing really. Sort of learning through repetition.
What's Martinez supposed to do, come out and slate the board? He's in the same position Moyes was here.
There's simply no way a sensible manager like Martinez can look at our squad, look at our league position and come to the conclusion that we'll go with what we've got. It's just not an optimal solution, it makes no sense. The brass ring is there to be grasped at, but once again we aren't being backed properly from the board.

It's our standard youth 'keeper signing that happens almost every transfer window. Taudul, Threepwood etc.
I'm not calling Martinez a liar at all; I'm saying he's soft tissued and has to make the best of a bad situation.
Why is it unbelievable?
Maybe Martinez has 3 or 4 players he really wants. Maybe the clubs who own those players simply won't sell them midway through the season, unless it's for a big premium on top of what they would be prepared to sell for in the summer. Maybe Martinez doesn't want to jeopardise his summer plans by spending too much of his cash now.
If he got 2 of his targets in now, that might mean he'd not have enough for the others he wants.
It's actually pretty sensible and I'd rather take a long term view on it.
I absolutely agree we need a centre mid as cover for Gibson, but given that Gibson will be back before the end of the season, a loan makes a lot of sense.
I don't have a problem with Martinez's view on this
"@GregOK: Any other signings 2day hinge on Heitinga's people persuading a club to match his high wages at EFC. If they can't he'll stay where he is"
Having to sell to loan... Absolutely pathetic!

Thankfully it appears Martinez is more of a Wenger than a Redknapp. We'll reap the benefits of that in the mid and long term I guarantee it.
They are proven not to be trusted in the transfer market and yet you believe some slack should be given to them in their dealings with a new manager - precisely why?
If you had a conversation with Moyes right now, do you think he'd share your belief that Martinez is guiding the club transfer policy to his own liking? "He'll find out how the club works". He might be a lot of things Moyes, but he was spot on there and I bet Martinez is mulling those words over right now.
I have heard Mario Suarez mata (apparently his name) is as cocky and deadly as Mario Ballotelli, scores wonder goals against crap teams like Rat boy and can thread the eye of a needle with his eyes closed like juan mata.
