Had this Irish whiskey today, must admit I'd never heard of it before. Very smooth and tasty, better than Bushmills or Jamesons.

Some of you must have been drinking some nice malts over Xmas so come on, what have you been imbibing?

I've been on Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 2010 Heavily Peated (43ppm I think) which is at a cask strength of 59.2% and surprisingly sweet and fruity, yet peaty and maritime as well on the finish. Amazing flavours, so much going on.

I’ve had that. It’s very nice.
Never even noticed this thread Grouch.
Made up I spotted it , mate calls me a Whiskey snob as I am only partial to a good Single Malt haha.

Anyway my go to has always been Glenmorangie in all its different forms.
Xmas night cracked open Macallan Gold very very nice.
Like a few Irish too especially Bushmills Black Bush ( got a nice 10 yr old as a pressie too)

Oh and always love a good shot of Morangie over over my Haggis new years.

Great thread btw.

Was round a mate's house the other day and he got out a bottle of The Balvennie which I've never had before.

Best whisky I've ever had. But I gather that it's available in a number of ages - do any of the itk's on here recommend a particular age?
