I feel like the poorer man for not trying whiskey.

Anyone point me in the right direction in regards to which i should go for and how it should be consumed?

Bunnahabhain 12 ordered online to be delivered to my home next week.
Very excited to do a taste comparison with my Oban Distillers Edition.
Next weekend :)

From their twitter page ;)

Anyone ever try Cardhu?

Found a bodega nearby that has Talisker 10 (one of my faves, especially for a 10), and saw Cardhu as well.

Prefer Islay malts, know it's a Speyside... but still more info might be good.

I haven't had the pleasure myself, but I am sure 1 or 2 at least will help you out soon ;)

Try and find a taster session somewhere, or go to a bar, order a slug of each of the varieties, Speyside, Islay etc and a wee jug of water, find yourself a cosy corner and work your way through the delights.

Whisky is a very individual taste. You will find a particular taste, be it smooth and mellow like a Dalwhinnie or peaty and smoky like a Lagavulin, or something in between, and the rest is fun discovering.

Enjoy your voyage.

Great advice.
I would only add to take some taxi money with you for the end of the night...
