Sir Landon Of Donovan

£3m is peanuts. He'd coast twice that though.

U think? I don't.... At the end of his current season (Nov) he enters the last year of his contract. IF Landon wants out he will be out he's already spoke about retiring at the end of current season..clearly a message to mls.

MLS we sweetened in advance with Cahill. They will also want Donovan back in 3 yrs or so for a swan song. If we want him he will be cheap!

I think with the Naismith and Mirallas transfers, it makes Donovan kind of repetitive. I have always wanted him back on a perm deal, but now it seems like, for the value he would be going for, it might be better to get a younger player (ie Mirallas) who will have the same affect on the first team.

Would still welcome him back with open arms if he signed, hands down.

Why on earth wouldn't we have both? You're going to turn this down:

Jelavic - Mirallas
Pienaar - Fellaini - Gibson - LD
Baines - Jags/Distin - Heitinga - Hibbert
Howard

or

Jelavic - LD
Pienaar - Fellaini - Gibson - Mirallas
etc.

or
Jelavic - Naismith
LD - Fellaini - Pienaar - Mirallas
etc.

I don't see why having depth is an issue. Personally I think LD > Naismith, so that's an upgrade and you get all these people on the pitch you have at attacking line-up we haven't seen before.

I don't understand where the 6 british pounds figure has come from. No one knows the price.

EDIT: Plus, we have no idea with Naismith's injury history if he's going to be healthy all year. Frankly, 1 injury happens, all of a sudden we need one of those players.

I'll tell you what, haven't read all this thread, but imagine if all the talking and fawning our players coaches and fans are doing right now happened to one of our current players. We'd be ****ing ropeable wouldn't we? I wonder how LA fans feel about this very public grooming of a player owned by another club/league/whatever.

Most of us don't care and want him to do what's best for him. His status with LA and the US men's team earns him that. Vast majority of LA fans will send him off and watch him at Everton.

I hope so and I'm sure that's true. Just smacks of hypocrisy when he criticized Mark Hughes etc of tapping up our players when we do the same thing.

cant see that lad, someone is pulling ya leg, simply because there transfew window is now closed so they wont be able to replace him, closed around 10 days ago I think. They will want to retain there MLS title an selling him wouldnt be the best way to go about it. IMHO of course.

Now this may be controversial, and I do love the guy but I'm gonna go ahead and say it:

Not sure I still want Donovan now.

You are crazy then.

We have promising but unproven attacking players coming into the squad. Even if they fully succeed, we are still on the light side numbers wise. One or two injuries will force us to draft in replacements who can do a job, but are not up to the same standard.

Donovan would be cheap (if not free at the end of his contract), fits well into our team, and loves the club. Plus he is versatile and can play RM, attacking mid, or even striker, which is a position we definitely need cover for.

It would be a great signing assuming we get him at a low cost or free. While I think he's a great player and just what we could use, I wouldn't pay a chunk of money (5m+) for him because he is on the older side and has no resale value.

cant see moyes taking him on a permament transfer he will be drafted in on loan again to cover pienaar when he goes to the ACON.

I can see LA galaxy offering him a 5 year deal and moyes only probably 2 year

This is a no brainer for me as long as the price is right. His record on assists from last season was amazing and he looks like the complete player, plus he can cover left, right or off the striker. Like Kay said if you get injuries or loss of form you need players coming in. If we can get him in now we should, if not then January would be great and give the players/fans a big boost.

Yes, mate, I am crazy. Now let me fukc your cat.

Actually, I'll rephrase: I don't want Donovan if we have to spend a significantly large amount of money (£4m+) on him.
