Sir Landon Of Donovan

He's not my favorite player.

I'm not biased.

He'd still help us.

Any Evertonian doubting that he could should go have a word with themselves. I'm tired of all this "Gee...I'm not sure now since he's aged a whole two years."

What numpty thinks a player loses his skills in a two year period at his age?

If Donovan signs, loan or otherwise, he slots right in on the right side and there you go. That's a fact. That isn't opinion and it sure as heck isn't biased.

I'm right. You're wrong.

Next.

Can you explain Michael Owen ?

Owen is a pace player. Had some injurys got older and lost pace.

Donovan is an ace player. Had none injurys got older and is still ace.

And he is still an ok football player. But he is no longer a star player.

I believe he lost his hunger... that little bit extra that made him one of the best goalscorers of his generation. He made a lot of money , got a dream move abroad.. it never worked out for him and I think that is where he fell out of love with football. His injuries are , I think ( and it's only my personal feeling ) a by product of his view of the game. I don't believe he trains with 100 % effort and I don't believe he has for a number of years, this in turn affects him when he is asked to perform at the highest level and his body breaks down,,, this in turn fuels his pessimistic view of the game as a whole and it becomes a viscious cycle. He will never be a top class player or be able to perform at the top level ever again.... no matter what he goes on the TV telling everybody.

I understand the point people are making about age but i think its being laboured a bit ot much, i dont remember it being such an issue when we signed Pienaar and if anything the Don will have more of a resale value as he is an established player in the states - so we have a ready made buyers market. Look at the Cahill situation we paid about 2.5 mill to Millwall and after nearly a decade of service we got two million for him from the MLS.

I think he point of age and resale is being laboured to much in this case, plus he has played MLS which tends not to be taxing physically given the length and intensity of their league season.

Interesting:

Landons date of birth is the 4th of March 1982

Piennars date of birth is the 17th of March 1982

First of all we got £1m for Cahill, but that's neither here nor there.

And I did raise issues about Pienaar's age mate. It concerns me and it's concerned a lot of people that we've spent £4.5m on a 30 year old. But it was necessity really. He was so integral to our play last year and in previous years that we really just had to do it.

Landon has never been integral to us because he's never been here long enough to be.

Somebody who watched Cahill turn from a teror to a dead weight in less then two years, perhaps.

A good point indeed.

For me it's all about the fee. If LD is cheap, sign him up Molyez. If he's not, then sign someone else up ffs Moylez.

Why does everybody seem to fail to acknowledge the fact that we got 3m or whatever it was for Pienaar in spite of his contract being near its end? Then he signed new 4 yr contract & we got him back for 4.5m. That seems like all things considered some good business.

Likewise, LD was allowed to come 2 seasons in a row & defo helped turn our season around. Sorry but this is not your typical situation when u consider a star player during offseason, injury risks, etc. We may think MLS is playing hard a$$ but lets also show some perspective & christ forbid some grattitude. Finally, does anybody else think we could've received the fee MLS paid for Cahill on those wages with that much remaining on his contract? We all love Timmy but our friends in the US did us a bit of a favor on that as well, imho.

So...when we factor all of this into account, a few mil is more than fair & we'd b crazy not to jump on it (assuming it's an option). Long term there's value not only to improving exposure stateside but also in continuing positive relations with MLS as it continues to grow & provide both incoming/outgoing transfer opportunities.

That said, f**ckng do da damn thing already Lando/Moylez/MLS/Kenriches. FFS your giving us all headaches at this point.
