"Reason and Azzurri don't mix"

Says the man who believes the death penalty has a place in modern society because 'it has been around forever' and believes I am equating capital punishment to slavery when I point out so has the latter.

Er, yeah.

Maybe you shouldn't be on a forum because they're all about the views of different people, but there's no need for us to speak any more as you clearly think differently. Hey, I'm happy to let you have your opinion. Just let everyone else have theirs.

Yeah...whatever. Still a lack of understanding on your end.

I'd be happy if you understood things as well but it doesn't take long to figure out when you're talking to a wall. Why bother asking you to understand?

Like I said, move along and you'll do just fine here.

My Dad would batter your Dad, though, lad.

On topic....

As much as all pro-footballers are in it for the coin LD wouldn't move back here simply for the money.

Time other times before Everton he has spent in Europe sort of tarnished his reputation as a player that could dominate the small pond of MLS but not back in up with the big boys. If he did move back, be it loan or permanent deal he would only do so if he had something to offer. And on that basis I'm all for it. Having someone either off the bench of in the XI with a bit of quality who can fill various roles is a good thing, or am I missing something?

I'll say this much, if he does come back, I'd like it on a permanent deal. No more loans. Give him a two and a half year deal.

It isn't. Never has been.

Heh. For the record, I've never banned anyone for disagreeing with me. If I did, we wouldn't have half the people on here we have now. That and I'm fairly sure my stint as a moderator would come to an abrupt end. I've banned people for a variety of offenses on here as spelled out in the forum rules though.

Serious about what?

Yes because reason and Azzurri don't mix. Like oil and water. Who am I?

- Someone who watches MLS in person every week.
- Someone who watches other MLS squads play each week.
- Someone who watches Landon Donovan on as much as a consistent basis who isn't an LA Galaxy supporter.
- Someone who can comment intelligently on MLS players and their abilities, not just in MLS, but how they may or may not do if they were to transfer to Europe.
- And lastly, someone who's frankly sick and tired of uninformed/lazy opinions being spouted off as fact on the subject of Landon Donovan

But because some Everton whopper(s) thinks that they've seen Landon play what? One or two times since he's left Everton and even then, probably just some highlight they caught on the news, that they think he's past it or couldn't help the club?

I hope that answers your question although I thought very seriously of giving you absolutely no response as that's really what your questions deserved. I'm sorry if I had to spell it out for you. I've got a funny feeling though that you wouldn't get a satisfactory response no matter what I said.

Oooh yeah....really cringe worthy.

Amazing to me that someone thinks that the truth is more "cringe worthy" than giving credence to opinions of people who don't even watch him play. You're welcome to shoot the messenger or how the message was delivered if you don't like it. I don't care too much about being diplomatic about it at this point.

For the record, could Landon come here and be absolute crap? Sure he could.

The point is that his current form based on observation of his play is good enough to where he would still contribute to Everton Football Club.

I think the point people are trying to make bill is that although all the above MAY be true, the conclusions you draw from them are still only your opinion, not as you state actual fact. I agree that you most dinately have more intel on the mls than most of us here and I respect your opinion, but that is exactly what it is, opinion. I think people get upset when you tell them their opinion is invalid but that your view is the right one. Just saying like.

MLS is SPL without a big team.

I feel like the Landon train passed a few years back. He might be a useful backup when Peanuts goes to the ACN, other than that, I'm not sure. He doesn't even sound interested in football.

This.

It feels like he doesn't want to further his career by moving here. Instead of playing in the Premiership, and possibly the Champions League (one of the best leagues and one of the best club competitions in the world) he is choosing to stay in the MLS, a league where he knows he can do the business. Surely he'd want a new challenge, and surely he'd want it to be in PL and Europe? Isn't that the pinnacle for most footballers? If not then it does sound like he isn't interested in a positive career move, which questions his interest in football full stop

makes the most sense, he wouldnt join on a permanent deal for a 1 or 2 year deal, not when he can get a 5 year deal at la galaxy.

get him on a 6 week loan to cover pienaar, if he doesent want to come he can **** off.
If he was 25 this wouldnt be a problem, but he will be 31 next year and we already have enough 30+ players

you have to remember he will be 31 next year, and has never played 38 games at premier league level in 1 season, to start doing that for the first time in your career at 31 would be a massive challenge for any player.
not to mention the america internationals on top of that.

His contract expires in Jan.

Lets all just chill and see what happens.

If he comes on a free, bonus. If he doesn't, we can **** the **** out of him.

Agreed?
