Were all the british players staying in england and not heading to italy and spain during the 50s, 60s and 90s showing a lack of ambition too? Were pele, garrincha etc showing lack of ambition by not leaving Brazil and playing solely in south america?
Some bad euro snobs here, how is finishing 7th in england more ambitious than winning leagues in the USA. If the standard of US domestic football is so bad then how come they can keep fielding world cup teams which out perform the europeans?
