We actually agree. Partner for Gibson and right back are the priorities IMO. Love Landon, but he's no longer needed unless its on the cheap.
" You've lost that loving feeling..." Sang the Righteous Brothers. It seems as time has passed, the love affair between Landon and Everton has cooled down some what. Now, we all know that because the seasons's between the MLS & EPL overlap, that anything but loan deals are the only viable result until his contract expires / buys out. But the general 'love-in' that we all used to witness on social media outlets, mainly Twitter, has all but stopped. Yes, he's not spoken for a while on his Twitter account - but if anything was going to break the silence , it would of been the result against Manchester United. A game played at night and beamed back at "sensible o'clock" to the USA. But his silence was deafening.
He's a Blue and everyone around him knows he's a Blue. He'll be kept 'In the loop' as to the comings and goings here. Cahill & Rodwell leaving,Hibbo's testimonial and it's subsequent riot, our recent performances and of course..the new signings. Landon will be getting that feeling that he's not needed, even on loan. We appear to have the players and back up required to go to toe-to-toe with the best our league can throw at us. Unless, between now and January, some one is cursed with a long term injury and we need to bolster the squad - he's surplus to requirements. I'm also pretty sure, if the time comes and we have a full squad, he's not going to come and be a bit part bench warmer for a couple of months.
I sadly think the window of opportunity has closed on Landon. We've now filled that position with cut priced , but adequate replacements, in the shape of Naismith and Miralles. I'd of loved to seen Donovan in the Royal Blue for a few years. But when money is tight and Moyes is faced with the option of sitting on his hands waiting..or filling that position with two players , that would of cost the same as Donovan and have change to spare.. unfortunately with our current state of affairs. beggars cannot be choosers as far as our finances go
