So even if his running legs start to go, he'll still have the technical ability and mind to make a good contribution. Exactly the kind of player you'd want to bring on to sure up your defence when you're holding onto a 1-0 lead. Give him a 3 year contract on a relatively low wage (30k p/w) and i'd be happy as.

My only concern would be that Donovan would prevent others like Mirallas getting appearances.

I guess you could always drop Fellaini back to CM and put Mirallas in the hole at Ossie's expense. But with injuries etc would be invaluable to have some depth. If we get him and that Ofoe-lad, I'd be made. Can't see any exists come January as we don't really have senior fringe players or deadwood.
 

Actually, if we can get him in winter permanently, then I think we only need a central midfielder or two and our squad will be absolutely boss. One of them could be Hitzlsperger as only a cover. And second one could be a more defensive guy like Odjidja. Then in my opinion we will have something that could be actually called good squad. And we should have money to do that, that's an amazing thing.

And next summer, if we can get to Europe, we can even be in a play for some really quality players, who are going to be available for free next summer, or we can try to sign them even this January for smaller fee. Llorente, Huntelaar, Walcott, Dzagoev, Honda, Sissoko or Yanga-Mbiwa are probably out of our league in every case, but we maybe could be in a race for guys like Douglas, Holtby, Sulejmani, Kuzmanovic, Hoarau, Cattermole, Hangeland or Phillips really soon..

Funny you say that. I had him down as a purely defensive type too. Went on the Brugge site and read some stuff with him mentioning how a new addition to the midfield gave him more license to get foreward. apparently went past four dfenders to score in one of their games. Only what I read but might have more to his game than we think.

Yeah, I saw that video where he done it. To be honest, I think he is a little bit like Fellaini. Strong guy, who can play anywhere in central midfield position. With Fellaini in our squad playing in the hole, I think he would certainly play as one of that two players behind him, not sure if in Osman or Neville/Gibson role, but I guess he would compete for a place with Osman and the other place in central midfield would be between Gibson and Neville, plus there could be Hitzlsperger/Barkley/Junior as well as a cover.
 
If Fellaini is gonna keep playing as our CAM then pls god make him do some shooting practice.

He's a great player in other areas and that's why we play him there but he seriously needs to do some work on his shooting.
