Sir Landon Of Donovan

If Fellaini is gonna keep playing as our CAM then pls god make him do some shooting practice.

He's a great player in other areas and that's why we play him there but he seriously needs to do some work on his shooting.

His head and chest are at god-tier status but he tramples around on his feet like a new-born calf. I agree.

From espn:

Q: Landon Donovan is still perhaps the highest-profile American player, but he's talked about possibly leaving soccer altogether on several occasions recently. When did you last speak to him? How does he fit into your plans between now and 2014?

Klinsmann: "The last time we spoke was in Mexico [a 1-0 U.S. win in August]. You try to get a feel for a player, but those are things players have to work out for themselves. I hope his goal is still 2014 [World Cup]. He has many thoughts, about going back to Europe maybe, after his good experiences with Everton, but he's old enough to make his own decisions."

Howard
Coleman Jagielka Heitina Baines
Mirallas Gibson Fellaini Pienaar
LD Jelavic

The speed down that right hand side would make me swoon.

Depth isn't a bad thing, especially cause I have my bells on looking forward to Europe next year. ;)

"He has many thoughts, about going back to Europe maybe"

That could mean that he wants to come to Europe to play, but that doesn't necessary mean it'll be Everton.

He's already said that he's not interested in coming back.

That was an old Klinnsman quote to be fair. I doubt it has any bearing on what LD would be thinking now.

It's actually not. That story, interview and quote, is from two days ago.

We've already had this discussion.

Asked LCAB how much it would cost us to get him on loan. Response was 'It won't be on loan'.

*hopes the stupid LCAB argument doesn't start again*

Read the rest of the tweets bud - also interesting to note that LCAB says most of LD's previous loan fee was sponsored. Yes, most. As in, cheap for us. Don't see that happening with many other players. Depth is a good thing. And yes, I want to find a way to shoehorn all of Pienaar, Mirallas and LD into the side. For me that involves going 4-4-2, moving Fellaini so he can make deep runs from midfield, and moving Osman to the bench. But that's just my opinion.

Pienaar is not going to the ACON. Now if Liberia and Ivory Coast can do us a favour and knock out Gueye and Anichebe too we'd be much healthier and probably wouldn't need Landon at all this year.

I'm convinced he'll be back regardless of who goes to what competition.

This. It doesn't matter if we have pienaar mirallas ect ect... It's a squad game these days and rotation is needed. There's also games when mirallas will be off his game.. I'd rather Landon coming on than guaye. Injuries and fatigue we could not cope with and sustain are lofty posistion and good performances.

The more quality additions the better... And if we make Europe like is hoped, we will need more quality players.

Even assuming he doesn't break into the front 4 of Pienaar, Fellaini, Mirallas, Jelavic, then he's the first choice substitute for almost all of those positions. It only takes 1 injury or one player losing form and then Donovan steps in.

I'm sure he would start at least half of our games and he'd be above Gueye, Oviedo, Naismith, and Anichebe in the pecking order.
