No one who knows a bit about footy can deny that. But if thats the decisive factor that 'they would be' bigger club than us is ridiculous and shows lack of understanding.

Although I do think we're overpaying we've always given managers high wages, Martinez was something like the 14th highest paid manager in europe.

Oh come on, you personally arent arsed, but the bulk of your fanbase is livid hes leaving, it shows you up for what you are, a nothing club, a yo yo club that lists runners up in the league as its greatest achievement.

With regards to recruitment, there seems to have been some tie up between out scouting, the black box, the DoF and Koeman, but who takes the most credit I am not sure. Most of the players we have got since he has been in charge have worked out well, a few loans signings last season were not so good, Juanmi was a bit of punt that did not work out either. We have certainly been more active in recruiting from the Eredivise, which is hardly surprising and would certainly have been influenced by the Koeman brothers. But we did have everything in place before they joined, scouting system, youth set up, training, etc.

I've seen a couple of references to the "Black Box" on some Southampton forum posts and I was wondering if you mind explaining what this is? We have a regular poster on here who gets all his opinions on overseas players from a black box, but I suspect it isn't the same one you are referring to...

The same thing again when are other football clubs going to learn that its not always the manager or our players with Southampton that will bring instant rewards.
Our success in recent years is more to do with how the club is set up.
When managers or players leave we identify (already have short-list for Koeman's replacement even when he was in charge) managers and players that fit within the structure that is currently in place.
We do not change the whole club set up from one manager to the next they just continue with the successful formula that is in place.
That is why for the past six seasons we have been better then our previous seasons, its not luck, its just meticulous attention to detail and continuity.
We are not a bigger club then Everton - But we are sure run as a bigger club.
That is why saints fans struggle to see how Everton (currently) are a step up

It's a Friday afternoon at work mate, quit trying to work this into something you can get excited over. Honestly, a huge amount of our fans really don't care whether he leaves or not.
