Arsenal Mike, don't embarrass yourself, we were top of the league for about 4months of the season and now we are back to Groundhog day of scrapping for the virtual trophy. It's not something to be happy about. The FA cup final will only redeem us if win it.....and before you get carried away with that mate, remember Birmingham.
Living proof all teams have supporters that can be d**k heads.

It was an odd game, the tempo never really got gong. Your players didn't seem to have the energy you've had the last few weeks.

I wouldn't be that down on Barkley, he's only 20.

It's not over yet but unfortunately it means you have to hope your scummy neighbours win the league tomorrow, leaving the blue Mancs with nothing to play for.

Pardew will not want to be the toon manager that loses 6 in a row, so what with him and Wenger not liking each other, I can see that being a dirty draw, with Tiote taking Ramsey/Carzola/Ozil out. Knowing him probably all 3.

Good luck lads, as I've said before, I' d still prefer Everton get 4th so we can get some form of regime change because at the moment it looks like he's signing the contract and we will just continue to be 4th spot fannies.

Are you a 49ers fan too?

For players of such value Lukaku,Barkley and Del were awful today, too many players off their game on the same day pointed to that defeat. It's done so we move on and turn it round in the final two.
But it lowers their value in the transfer window...always thinking is Roberto...

I think 4th is all but nailed on for you mate, Newcastle will let in at least 3, We just haven't got the legs coming into the final bit and with us having so many players injured not just now but through out the season it has caught up with the squad imo

Arsenal prob need a change as much as we did under Moyes, I think things can get stale and need a change in direction, Klopp would suit Arsenal down to the ground

I can accept defeat if we've but the effort in, but didn't think we did today. A lot of poor performances, CL hopes look to have ended with a whimper.

It has been a good season though, and given I believe this season to be transitional, I think following seasons will be even better.

Has to play 90 min every single match, he's going to have off days. Go back and watch the matches he doesn't play. Others needed to step up.
I understand that, he is young too and everything I am not knee jerking on this. I just think that if he's going to be 75% or more of out budget, then we need to look elsewhere. Other areas of the team need improving and the squad needs more players for europe next season without a doubt, injuries take their toll as shown today.

missed the game, i'm guessing we were sh*te? we've failed to take advantage many times this season when we've had a chance to finish 4th and it sadly happened again, just like it did vs palace. it's a mentality that hopefully will be addressed next season.

anyway, can't get too down about it, i'm almost certain we wouldn't have got 4th even if we won today and it would be quite a big leap for a team with our resources from no europe for a few years to CL. just need to make sure we beat hull to guarantee 5th.

Or City?

Totally agree with this, transitional season and have achieved a hell of a lot compared to previous seasons. As much as I'm annoyed, can't change anything so just be happy with the improvement so far and anticipate further improvement next season and from then on.

Martinez reckoned the "psychological blow" of conceding the two own goals was the reason we weren't "ourselves" today..

Finding that difficult to accept tbh... these fellas are supposed to be professional footballers aren't they? You don't automatically just stop trying in a situation like that..

They are still human though. Scoring an own goal must be demoralising, hugely.

We all knew that 1 goal would put the game in our favour, and is that not somewhat similar? The psychological boost the players would get from us coming back into the game?
