Disappointing that, you'd have thought we were the ones with nothing to play for not them! Still been a good season but feels a bit like we've blown 4th. A good sign of how far we've come I guess. None of this throwing the game v City talk please, lets rip into em and finish the season well securing 5th place.

Alcaraz is behind a nineteen year-old in the pecking order at CB - by definition, he is not needed. I'll concede that back in August we had no reason to think Stones would be as good as he is, but we had Heitinga then too. Alcaraz is no better than Heitinga was. He should go.

Kone.... I don't know what to say. Starved himself (can't be good for an athlete) for Ramadan, promptly injured himself by trying to play immediately after said starvation. Bonkers. Should have kept Cheebs.
Alcaraz was brought in as backup though, backup. That's what he's been for us, and he's been fine, but for an own goal today, but coleman scored one too does that make him [Poor language removed]? I don't think so. He was on a free, and probably isn't eating up much wages, especially compared to Heitinga who was apparently one of our top earners??

Kone followed his religion compassionately, i do not knock him for that and tbh I don't think you should either. professional footballer or not he has a right to do whatever he believes in, and i'm pretty sure his injury is nothing to do with that - although i'm not saying it couldn't have had an effect.

We looked very tired today injuries are taking its toll - Lukaku looked injured when he was running - we have run out of steam all those early foolish points dropped have cost us not today it was just a big disappointment to get beat in that fashion - Southampton never got out of 2nd gear !

[Poor language removed] off you tithead. That's really [Poor language removed] offensive.

Everything I said was true, sorry for being annoyed at us bottling it and throwing away all the good work we did this season.

Crawl back under your rock pal, can't be dealing with fans like you who only come out when we lose, you make me feel rate down.

Some bad lad's on here, where were you all when we won 7 games in a row? the own goal after 53 seconds was always going to hurt us and was always going to be hard to come back from.
Don't think that was in question pal, think a load of us are realising that this season is effectively over but are happy for the rollercoaster ride it's been. Back in Europe, tidy new manager and the makings of a decent squad. Just shame we couldn't put the icing on the cake....next year though.

Yeah mate i agree, it is disappointing because we have been so good this season and were very close but it has still been a top season, we have been playing some top football, highest points in the prem, we have lots to look forward too.

This.

We were below par but even then might have salvaged something but for 2 desperately poor decisions against us in the second half. Anyone who has played any football at all will recognise the psychological effects of the events on the pitch today.

Are Spurs still winning?

Still lots to play for.............

Hardly a like-for-like comparison is it pal. Coleman has contributed ever so slightly more than Alcaraz, don't you think? Your point is somewhat flawed.

Probably didn't make it clear - I'm not knocking him for following his religion: I'm knocking us for signing him, knowing he was going to starve himself in accordance with his religion. Depriving a professional athlete's body of sustenance during preseason training is a bit dense, and I suspect is not recommended by many doctors.

Fair enough but at the expense of Liverpool winning the league I don't care about the one position. Saying that its all ifs and buts but I would concede that position (if it would be conceded anyway) to stop them winning the league and there fans using it as a cosh against us for the unforeseeable future.

Like I said anyway...if it was nailed on then yes but its not.

PS. Off the top of your head...what position did we finish 4 seasons ago....and do you care now.
Tbf does help that I live in California so fon't have to deal with their fans on a daily basis.

And no, cannot recall where we finished 4 seasons ago off the top of my head but I have more faith in Martinez that we can really prgress in European cup like competitions, kind of lost belief in Moyes in cups
