What happened last night?! Noone did anything, it was a shambles. On the plus side there were moments of class from Arteta, pity they were in our own half. Also I thought Everton ditched the long-ball hoofing game when Dunk left, why was Yobo and Senderos doing that when the talent is clearly there to play a better game?

Don't know why but I don't feel too bothered about last night. Especially compared to when we lost to say Liverpool.
In reality were we ever going to win this competition? I doubt it. We just havn't worked out how to play away in Europe yet. It will come but against a top side we're not there yet.
I do however agree, that with Heitinga and Fellaini in it may well have been a different story.
Onto Sunday, we'll give Spurs a proper game i'm sure.

Given our current form, I actually thought we could go on and win the comp if I'm honest.
I can only put it down to Moyes negative tactics backfiring on him once again.
The lads were [Poor language removed], but they have a game plan instructed upon them. I'd much rather Moyes let them just do their thing, and suck it and see.
It's plainly obvious that when he needs a goal, he puts another striker on. That clearly says he didn't put a team out with the intention of scoring, but more stopping the opposition.
Time to start learning how to change a game, and identify it needs changing in the first 15 minutes, and not half way through the 2nd half when we're behind.

I am depressed. Very, very very poor performance.
Bily was totally ineffective, also have to say Donovan tried but hardly contributed much. That pair of CBs must be our worst possible pairing. Comment from Colleymore about the defence laying too deep because if our CBs moved up they have no pace to get back!!!!!
Have to say we should send Senderos back, please do not sign him and although Yobo was the better of the pair cannot see any point in keeping him. Must settle for Jags, Hetty, Distin and Duffy surely 4 cbs is enough.
Notice on the play we backed off them to much yet when we had the ball they came forward to close us down.
We seem to go out and try not to lose rather than try to win!

It took me this long to cool down after last nights horrific display of 'football'! Actually, Im still fuming!
Can someone please tell me why, after promising us more attacking football, Moyes changes his tactics into a 'hold on to what we got' strategy!
Even after the first half when it became painfully evident that if we continue to play like this, we will concede, Moyes still continued his crap strategy!

I should have never increased my expectations in the first place.
I only pray to God that that wanna be football team called Sporting get horribly humiliated in the next round, because they are a genuinely crap team!

never expected us to win after letting in 5 v benfica, also everytime i looked at fixture scedule i thought its a hell of a long way to go before final.
i was expecting us to get past lisbon but weather it was tactics or the teams performance it didnt happen. it just felt like they had 3 extra players on the pitch everytime we got the ball, there players were positioned or closeing down when we had the ball, our players did neither of those things.

I´m sory that you think Sporting is a crap team. We are having a hard season, but we are not a crap team, we have history in Europe, not only in football but in other sports.
Like i said before, it was a surprise for me too the way Sporting played, and even more surprising the way Everton played, after Moyes promisses to attack...
Everton won a fan in Portugal, i really liked your fans in Lisbon and hope to see you again.
If we play in Liverpool against the Reds, i hope we can trash them, i dont like them.
