I think they’ll do very well this season. Mourinho is class regardless of the revisionist rubbish written about him from his time at United. They should have kept hold of him rather than giving it to Ole. If the Spurs players work for him he has on paper a top goalkeeper, a decent defence with cover for all positions, a powerful midfield with cover for all positions, and a world class attack of Bale Kane Son with cover for all positions. Their results post lockdown were very good, and apart from their performance against us they’ve been very good this season. I think they could easily challenge for the league if Mourinho gets that defence sorted and with the goals he has upfront.

We do have a very strong squad although the CH position could be better. That will addressed in January I imagine.

If they get top 4 I’ll be absolutely astonished.

Why? They’ve historically been regular top 4 contenders under Pochettino. The basis of that squad is still there. They have two strikers capable of 15 plus goals a season easily, they have Bale to add to that. Their second choice front three (Bergwijn, Vinicius, Moura) is probably better than some teams first choice attack. Plus they have a world class manager to pull it all together. I’d make them third favourites on paper after City and Liverpool. Lampard and Solskjaer are clowns and Arteta doesn’t have as good a squad and isn’t as good as Mourinho.

Mourinho lost the plot about 6 years ago, when they go through a rocky spell it’ll all fall apart just like it has for him at his last 3 clubs. Bale will play 15 games scoring 3 goals.

Mourinho won a domestic double with Chelsea, then had a bad half season and got fired. Came back to United and won the europa and league cup, had a bad half season and got fired, now has gone to Spurs and had a decent half season. When exactly has he lost the plot? He’s had a few bad runs at two trigger happy clubs but still ended up putting multiple trophies in the cabinet at both.

Are you sensing a pattern here?

Pochettino had a bad half season at Spurs and got fired.

Exactly. What have Man U done since he got 2nd place & won 2 trophies for them (with a bang average team)?
