Spurs

If he fails at Spurs then fair enough, there’ll be a definite pattern. I just think some of the claims that he is finished are outlandish. On the one hand we’re hailing Ancelotti as a genius when he arguably ‘failed’ at Bayern and Napoli, yet at the same time we’re happy to laugh at Mourinho. I just don’t think talent goes away that quickly or that football can become outdated. I think Fergie could still probably school most of the managers of today, like Ancelotti said it’s not a difficult game. We’ll see how he does at Spurs, I just think quite a lot of people expect him (and Spurs) to fail when on paper they have a top manager with genuine world class forwards.

Here’s a Spurs fan’s thoughts on Mourinho.

I cannot stand the bloke.
I would much rather we had kept Poch and the chairman had backed him.
He had said for two prior years that the team needed new blood/was getting stale.
Poch was badly let down but still did brilliantly considering the obstacles he had to overcome (like the year and half that we had to play all our home games at Wembley and he still managed to get us in the C/L positions was an achievement.)

I think he will be a great manager for whoever next employs him (and I 100% don't mean Mourinho!)
Someone at THFC has been confirmed positive for Covid.
At last, a positive since Mourinho arrived.
The initial mistake was not backing and then sacking Poch, getting Mourinho to take he's place then added salt to the wound.
As long as we have Levy in charge, Spurs will continue to only tread water.
I think being old, on he's way down the managerial ladder and getting a big wage had most to do with it.
Mourinho, what a [Poor language removed].

I actually agree with what he said and kind of understand why he said it but after Son scored 4 goals, to interrupt his motm interview to say that Kane deserved it is a pathetic "look at me" thing to do.
Just no need at all!

I dunno, I just think Mourinho is past his best

That doesn't make him bad of course, but I'd be surprised if he ever reaches the same heights as he previously did

He just seems like too much of a sullen jerk for a club like Spurs too

Spurs are about excitement, flash and flair to me. When I was growing up you had the likes of Klinsman, Sherringham, Anderton and later on Ginola when he had his last good season before coming to us. Then you had the likes of Bale and Kane in recent years

Jose Mourinho doesn't represent that at all

Just having a look back through his other comments is eye opening

I remember once when I was at White Hart Lane I set up a stall and offered blow and rim jobs to passing strangers, sadly the only people that took me up on the offer was my uncle and his mate, but I'll take what I can get. COYS!!

Damn my secret is out. I wish you was Zippy and not Bungle lol (double pun intended.)

A healthy Chelsea squad will be different than what they've done so far. Interested in that one.

To this observer, Lampard has made the mistake many have made before; Been lobbed a pile of good players, when he already had plenty of decent ones, and hasnt a clue what is, or who are, are the best fit.

Could luck out on his best combo I guess, but in a foot race between a rookie and Jose, I know who I would back.

He hasn't actually had two of those players though and best I can tell those are the two who make the attacking set up he'd like to use work.

The Merican? Yeah, he looked sound before his hammy, but you get the point.
Ziyech too. Pulisic on the left, Ziyech right, Werner up top and Havertz in a #10/second striker type spot makes sense and is a natural fit for everyone. They've been using things like Mount or Havertz on the right which is a rough move.

I don't want to defend Lampard and I think he will mess it up still, but let's give it a few weeks with the actual team he tried to build and then call him out.
