@number4. Just to answer you and Zat on the same post.
I make you right. That Phillips is ok as a stopper, against a "top" team, but their issue is how quickly and accurately he can distribute the ball against poorer teams. The fixtures above are tough, but a little like us, they will probably fair better against tougher teams (for different reasons to us).
The concern for them, is against poorer teams, they all look like they can have some joy against Liverpool. The subtlelty of Firmino's game is lost, there is no space for Salah to move into etc. Also they are drilled to defend for 90 minutes.
Spurs was the perfect game for them last week, and I have to say Chelsea the week after will likely be much the same. There's not enough bite, patience or discipline.
Look at the 3 goals they score yesterday. They don't score any of those goals against Burnley. Jermaine Jenas was correct, they were horrendous goals to lose. In a lot of ways, worse than the goal we conceded. That is a handling error. That can happen (though it happens too often with Pickford). In 2 of the 3 goals, they have opted not to clear a ball as presumably they don't want to concede a corner. Lloris is much the same. Burnley clear the ball, and defend the corner.
For Jose Mourinho, who prides himself on making sides hard to beat, and who is tactically astute, to stick a side out to play like that is appalling. Forget Kane going off, they defeated themselves. He is going to die on the hill of Eric Dier at Centre back as well.
As for Liverpool, they were always going to win, and I'm sure some will use it as the excuse of "it's all ok now". Lets see how they follow up the win and see if they can string 3 or 4 together.
