Its all on Levy so far.

My guess would be that they legitimately can't afford to spend, and that it's not entirely Levy being tightfisted. We watched Arsenal go through this as well after building a shiny new stadium. The inevitable cost overruns eat into the war chest, and it takes a while for the profits to build that back up.

On a short-term contract, it makes sense. That contract runs out right around the time Conte will be fed up with broken promises from upstairs.

I think he's obviously the best manager available and I'd have wanted him here in theory too. In practice he is a manager who expects to be backed and we wouldn't have provided that. He will clash with Levy and it could get messy.

Well there's having an opinion and then there is basically saying we as fans should have a say on who the owner appoints as manager / DOF etc

Ultimately they pay the money so its their decision.

The only reason the scab 6 aint in the ESL is because the Government cracked down on quickly - was nothing to do with fan anger or Neville/Carragher.

There is a saying - never invite the devil into your backyard as he may like it and decide to stay - we invited the devil in 1992 and have to accept the reality of being part of the "greatest league in the world".
