Squad Assessment going into the Summer

i agree but he would be better then hibbert and neville at right back and going forward he would be able to use his pace to overlap

Yeah I think so.

When he has space to run at defenders and push it round them rather than have to beat them with skill he's good and I think that'd happen more at right back.

we are as ever short of a good winger and a right-back and as much as I believe Jelavic will bag us 20 goals next year(definitely seems good enough and will get better after getting used to the league and our players) we do lack depth up front. in my opinion adding, Pranjic and Johnson on free transfers will do to freshen things up in these areas, so long as we keep all our loaners and i will believe in having a top 6/7 finish next year. top 5 if we collect a consistent amount of wins against teams with less ability then ours in home games. I think you'll be able to add Barkley and Junior into the mix as well, so if these things happen I will be quite confident of a good season next year. I'd also be interested to see if we get any offers of around £15-20 million in the summer for Rodwell in the summer, whether Moyes would take it or not. I believe he should as Rodwell does not fit in with us, however much quality he has. Osman/Fellaini or Gibson/Fellaini are better combos. I would only take an offer like that if we could reinvest it in the playing squad(doubtful) and if so we'd be improving if Moyes could use that to bring in someone like Stijn Schaars from Sporting Lisbon(cracking central midfielder) or maybe even a winger (Elia from Juventus would be a realistic one if we have a bit of spare wonga).

Pacey striker..... Kevin Doyle??? That's hilarious !!

Rodellaga for me... With him being free is a bonus!

Sigurdsson a very good shout... 6M they recon tho.

2 wingers essential !!

How many years of his development at right back has Coleman lost now?

2 years which he could of used to be learning his position all because Moyes wouldn't actually get a right winger in.

Deathbyropeandglass.....

Moyes wouldn't or couldn't don't you mean get a RW in.

I meant what i said, that Moyes never got an actual right winger in to play right wing so had to resort to playing an inexperienced right back there after he eventually figured out that even inspite of that he was the best choice we had there and not Anichebe, Osman, Rodwell or Cahill who were all played there.

And don't give me no excuse about money because when he had it he didn't but a right winger instead buying players in other positions, he didn't get a loan in to play right wing, he didn't get a freebie in to play rw and he didn't bring a player up from the reserves/youth team to play right wing.

Was Davies the last one we had there? And he was ****.

That position has been a huge problem for us for many years now and not once has Moyes found a decent permanent solution to it, despite managing to do so in pretty much every other position on the pitch.

Its almost as like if he happens to find a decent player to play there (Donovon on loan) he'll have him but its at the bottom of his list of priorities and he'll stick any player there instead of trying to get the best out of the position.

Donovan??? Drenthe???? to be honest i dont think it is that easy to find a decent right winger worth the outlay we can afford. coleman is prob the best viable option we have.

Moyes has done wonders with overlooked players before.
I'd consider David Bentley for the right wing spot. Still under 30 and I think into his last year of contract at the outer reaches at spurs. Was a player at Blackburn, some good pedigree.

Besides all the fantasy football we are going to have to make a decision.
4-4-2
or
4-5-1

Also Pienaar is only a loan. And we don't have a lot of options for striker, we need someone really fast, Bolt fast !

Yeah i did mention Donovon later on but whilst still probably the best choice we've had there isn't a dedicated right winger, and Drenthe according to wiki was more of a left winger whilst at Madrid and has been played there several times as opposed to on the right.

Sure, it might not be easy to get players in especially given our finances. But he managed to get players in in pretty much every other position but has continiusly failed to find a permanent solution to our right sided problems.

Ok he might not be pacey but he's no slouch. Could do well playing of Jelavic

Have a go all you want but....

Sell Fellaini.

Hes the only one worth big money, we need to pay the bank and buy players.

Diame from Wigan is a free to replace him.

LOL

Great banter.

Im not joking.

We need 2 or 3 players. Weve zero money.

Unless we sell Heitinga and a couple fringe players well get less than 10mill tops. 5mill goes to the bank, were 2 or 3 more players down.

It makes sense. Sacrifice 1 player worth money to bring in 3.

We are up **** creak. Keeping hold of any decent player and not bringing in players just postpones the inevitable that the good player leaves.
