Stadium Thread - ALL Kirkby/Stadium Discussion Here

Cant agree with you...this is THE most important issue in Everton FC's history. Players, managers, owners come and go - the home of Everton is for a century or more. We have to get this move right.

Alternatively, we could just talk exclusively about Moyes transfer warchest, and what our co-efficient for Europe will be next season.

Bored as in the petty developments being sensationalised. The latest being;

LCC DISAPPROVE OF EVERTONS MOVE TO KIRKBY

I dont think that's a petty development. LCC and Sefton (and Grosvenor and St Modwens looking to protect their investments in the area) protesting. No wonder the Tesco troubleshooter Kissman is taking his time over responding to this setback.

You find me where its stated he hasnt said it, we can both play silly mate

So you have no quote from Wyness saying it's retail money or nothing at all? You know as well as I do that the club will not reject non-retail enabling money for a new stadium.

So you would rather us have a stadium in a industrial park than retail park?

You forgot the word 'light'. Would I rather the stadium be in the immediate vicinity of a light industrial park near the city centre? Yes.

Nah mate, not at all. What I said is common sense.

Liverpool City Council aren't going to give their seal of approval behind the Kirkby move now are they? - and either are their development partners.

Am getting bored of the whole debate, should lock threads like this until theres real development.

i feel much the same way about all the threads about ridiculous transfer rumours, but find the simple way to deal with it is to largely ignore those threads.

And you cant find me anywhere he hasnt said it? He said it and has said it a few times in radio interviews. The club will reject non retail thats the whole crux of why this development is so big

If that's true (and for the record I doubt it is).. and hypothetically Hilton Hotels or Jurys or someone approach Everton and say look we want to build a hotel near Park End over looking the lake in Stanley Park and the money will help you redevelop Goodison Park. Do you think the club would reject it?

With the best will in the world, money's money... as long as it coughs up the £52M shortfall, the club will accept pretty much any partner, after all, every little helps.

Or are you saying that the half time catering is expected to be so poor that Keith is insisting on the ability to dive out and grab a sausage roll and a bottle of pop from the shops next door?

so liverpool city council can object to kirkby because it will affect the city centre, yet the [Poor language removed] can move into stanley park, increase their revenue and therefore attract better players enabling them to keep on qualifying for c.l. attracting more income, so is this not affecting the income and potential success of everton football club. when will they be brought to task and it pointed out to them that they are being favourable to one team whilst not really giving a [Poor language removed] about the other.(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)

My thoughts exactly. With the termoil with the board at the RS they can still get plans cleared without any hastle for any parties (for the 3rd time). But when we have a company who made 11.5 billion last year wanting to be in cahoots with our club to build a stadium, everyone and their mother gets involved even if they're located a 100miles away.

Of course LCC are gonna favour them, they're the golden tourist goose for the city. They could plan to build a giant swastika outside their ground and LCC would take it into cosideration.

1st why on earth would the worlds biggest hotel chain want to relocate to Walton? Especially considering they could build 1 in the city of culture down the road

2nd Everton would reject a hotel as it doesnt bring enough enabling money as described by Wyness on more than 1 occasion

Totally agree with that, they cant be arsed helping us find a plot but are objecting to us moving. Disgraceful actions from a useless council

Toaly agree with whats been put above. The wank-shaft that is warren bradley should be given a healthy slap for the way he's treated us over finding a suitable home for the blues. An not just some landfill he could find.

Fukk him an Fukk LCC. I was born an bread in liverpool but i say fukk 'em an lets move to Knowsley!! Dont care what antone says kirkby is still liverpool. So is huyton an so is canny farm!!! it's only council boarders FFS!!

LCC just dont want to lose out on the amount of cash that Tesco and the Everton ground would/could generate for Knowsley Borough Council.

Lose a ground AND let KBC make mega bucks from a new ground and shopping centre? No way :P

If this all went ahead in the city centre with the similar limitations and problems the Kirkby move has, nothing would happen and everything would be fine.
