It would be something like a ban from new sponsorships from the 24/25 season. So current sponsors would honour the contract.

Rudd is not wrong though …. This tie up is two fingers to us fans who were promised no betting or gambling firms as sponsors.

We get another sponsor in a more limited market which means for probably less money, unless by some miracle we have huge turnaround in good fortune, win something / qualify for Europe and open up more lucrative markets to us.

The problem with gambling companies is how they target the 1 in 1000 that arent wired up right. They don’t mind giving away shed loads in free start up bets because they know they’ll land someone who’s never done it before and doesn’t realise it’s the start of their own self destruction. We can all shrug our shoulders and wonder what the big deal is but that one person will lose everything. Their savings, their job, their house, their car, their family and friends and eventually maybe even their life. All so we can spend a bit more on a player. Surely we can stand for something better than that, can’t we? Or do you not bother standing up for anything in life? It really isn’t that difficult a choice and it’s a shame the club have gone down this road.

Have to say that given the authorities are giving a high priority to ending sponsorship by this type of firm that this is a P.R. misstep.
