Agree the 3 gets a bum deal, as it's not that bad afair, a few terribad scenes aside (to be honest I'm scared to go back and re-watch it incase I'm wrong!). Still not anywhere near as good as this one tho.

Always thought Ralph Fiennes would have made a good 'young Harrison Ford' if they'd remade/rebooted any of his films 15-20 years ago. Right around the time he did that sci-fi film that may or may not remind people of Blade Runner he'd have been bang on.

Watched it. A bit "meh" all in all although not without it's high points.
The overarching problem is, knowing it's the first film in a trilogy, it purposefully leaves far more questions than answers, so just doesn't stand up as a strong film by itself. The main "plot" is just an unbelieveably lazy mcguffin.
Overall I think it's about on par with Attack of the clones. Watchable and fun because it does a good job of taking us back into the SW universe but not a "good film" by any stretch of the imagination.

If I was an uber nerd with a neckbeard who played with his lightsaber in the mirror I'd probably be a bit annoyed at a similar plot too, but luckily us normal fans got what we wanted.
