Someone, might've been Han, also mentions Luke went off to train Jedi Knights but one of them went rogue or something so Luke packed it in. Maybe that's already been explained or I missed some other comment that explains who that was, but that could be one of her parents.

Ben Solo (Kylo Ren) was the Jedi who went rogue and killed all the other Jedi's Luke was training..

Not so sure about that...the flashbacks from when she touches the lightsaber, coupled with the comments to her from Maz Kanata about waiting for people that aren't going to come back, have me confused. Kylo Ren was one of the Jedi's luke was training but turned and killed the rest. Thats why Luke disappeared because he blamed himself

Favourite part was the ending, a hooded and mysterious Luke on the cliff edge with the orchestra ringing all around and the camera panning around them. Beautiful.

Reminded me of A New Hope with a yearning Luke looking out towards the 2 suns at sunset with that magical score flowing.

Lots of niggles in the film, but I'll always remember the magic.

Now you've both ruined it for me...FFS. Why do all Jedi's have to be deadbeat dads..ditching their kids and shiz.

Beyond boring now.

I thought you were saying the film had gotten boring! Couldn't see the quote as I had Mr Twain on ignore for some reason I can't even remember. This provided a good reason to keep the ignore list as is!

Anyway, saw it again the other day. Very good film, holds up to a second viewing. But for the future, nostalgic populace it will ultimately be forgotten, remembered as a classic or anything in between, based on what they do next. The platform is there for them to make a cracking trilogy, so let's hope they build on it.

Exactly, before Xmas the foster kids were fighting so I made the excuse of having to goto Newcastle to have a work meeting. I went to Nandos and watched Star Wars again in 3D. Best lie ever, and enjoyed it again

Quite eager for the anthology series now, Chris Pratt as Han Solo anyone?

I'm hoping for Ewan McGregor to reprise his role in his own film, thought he was a cracking Obi Wan. Might be in the minority there mind.

You're almost definitely in the minority! But I also wouldn't mind seeing Chris Pratt as Han Solo. There are very few Harrison Ford-esque actors these days, in terms of charisma etc, but Pratt fits the bill for sure.

That said, adequately casting a young Han Solo may be a genuinely impossible task.

I might do this

Would imagine they'll go with an unheard of actor like usual rather than an established one. Pratt would be good though
