It was much worse under RM when it went badly though. I despair if people can't see the clear signs of improvement from the end of last season to now.

Martinez is irrelevant.

Look at Mike Walker...then look at Joe Royle....huge difference.

Even Unsworth vs Norwich...again, enormous difference.

Its boring....im not even going to have a tirade because its too depressing lol

I really don't see how you can class it as boring but whatever.

And no, RM isn't irrelevant. He downgraded us that much (As much as I defended him) by the end of last term that we're literally having to piece it together again bit by bit.

Unsworth won the last game of the season against a poor Norwich team who were relegated. It was a very impressive performance though and I think I've been clear on my views of him, I think he could make a very good manager.

The comparison between Royle from Walker is interesting. I see us as quite similar now. Just like when Royle first we went on a decent run but mainly based on drawing and winning games with the odd goal.

I don't thin we will see exciting football but I do wonder if that experiment has passed. We look solid again and don't concede many goals. Compared to how were ended last season we have made an awful lot of progress.

How so? All i see is the defence sitting deep, full backs told to sit back (mostly)...deep midfielders then a gap to the wingers and lukaku which is breached with long balls...

Not progress to play like Wimbledon or Bolton.

Yet, 12months ago we looked far better and with a better keeper we would have achieved much more.

I cant see any 'piecing together' playing long ball negative tactics against relegation candidates.

You think our players are gonna learn how to play football in 2 months?

LOL

Seriously?

You have the same Martinez PTSD that David has.

Im going to type this really slowly.

Roberto Martinez, was an utter clown, who ruined this football club for 2 solid years, its going to take "us" time to recover from such an illness that was inflicted on us, its going to take longer than 2months for Koemans style to bed in and for the players to stop playing like gremlins.

Got it?

You're a fan of long ball then. ok.

...went to watch PSG v Bordeau on Saturday, huge gulf between the sides even though they were on the same points before kick off. It was a stroll in the park for PSG, lots of quality on the pitch as you would expect.

The diminutive PSG Italian midfielder, Marco Veratti was a favourite for me but I was particularly taken with a cameo from the bloke who replaced him with 30mins to go, Adrien Rabiot. 21 year old Frenchman, 6ft 2in with a stride that made the pitch look small. I expect he'll struggle for game time at that club, if you read this Mr Walsh he could be worth a look at.
