He was awful. I like him, not as much as everyone else but i wouldn't slate him if he was good.

Apart from the goal he didn't do anything. He is playing in a position where he is meant to link the midfield to our actual striker [lukaku] and he does't do that.

This what people aren't getting. He's not a play maker. He's the slotter.

He's the one getting the space dragging players away.

I'd be playing Barkley and Lukaku AND Naismith in a wandering role 4 - 3 -3

And or allow Barkley to dominate midfield in a orthodox 4-4-1-1 again Naisy wandering mode dragging players and slotting.

Barkley can do his playmaking then too and runs he likes to do
