Steven Naismith though.

He's our Kuyt really. He's a pretty crap footballer who slots and works like mad. Hate to even make the comparison, but it's pretty accurate I think...and I can't think of a better comparison.

Regardless of that comparison, he's boss...and has proven MANY wrong on here.

You are totally ignoring his best attribute which is movement.

Dare to Naismith.

He's MUCH better on the ball than Kuyt. Take McCarthy's goal against Hull last season as the first example I can pick off the top of my head, he's got vision and is such an intelligent player, Kuyt should be made up to even being compared to the almighty god himself. I'm defo watching Scotland's game tomorrow just to watch him break his leg in 16 places.

He was gash tho not so long ago.

I honestly don't think anyone was being harsh on him as his performances were that of a league 2 player. Not occasionally but EVERY time he played.

Maybe it was playing out of posistion or coming back from injury, or even a mixture of both but the turn around he has made is astonishing. Gota be one of the first names on the team sheet currently!

That's like the biggest exaggeration in the world EVER!

he just never looked fit, guessing his injury troubles were behind that, and he never was played in his correct position,if we'd stuck Jimmy McCarthy out on the right wing when he arrived he'd be heavily criticised also.
I hate to be bashing the previous manager, but he really didn't know what he was doing with Naismith did he.

This is a tough one cause the lad couldn't do anymore than he has this season but when Barkley is fit we all know Ross will play behind the striker.

If we play 4-2-3-1 I don't see Naisy's getting in cause he's not a winger and I don't think he's a sole striker either.

Feel sorry for the bloke, reckon a change of formation could fit him in though:

Howard
Coleman Jagielka Stones Baines
Barry
McCarthy Barkley
Mirallas
Naismith Lukaku

Or:

Howard
Coleman Jagielka Stones Baines
Barry McCarthy Barkley
Mirallas Naismith Lukaku
(Front three swapping)

There's no comparison with Kuyt. Kuyt is a disciplined player, he sticks at his task and is a utility player. Look at the way he slotted in at LB for the Dutch at the WC. Naismith can play one and only one position.

Kuyt is head and shoulders above Naismith. He was consistently Liverpool's best player under Benitez.

head and shoulders........absolute load of tosh.who is claiming Naismith is a utility player anyway ! ,on that basis Kuyt is better than the vast majority of forwards 'cause they can't slot into a different position either.

Agree

Disagree. He was Liverpools most consistent player under Beneitz, as in completing a task assigned to him. Nowehere their best.

Anyway; Steve Naismith - good on the lad

I do have to chuckle at this. It's a conceit to believe one of our players has had a recent run of good form and is therefore the equal or superior of a feller who's picked up 100 caps for Holland and played at the very highest level of European football. Kuyt has virtually no pace, plays wherever he's told and still has a career strike rate of a goal every two and half games in club football and a goal every four games for his country.

You're having a laugh.
