If we could get 10 or 12 million for him next Summer, then I think we should sell him. If we add the extra 10 million we will receive for our Europa Cup campaign, then we should easily have 20 - 22 million available to spend on a boss central defender, because lets face it, if the defence doesn't need sorting out right now, then it will do by next Summer. That would leave Lukaku, Eto'o, Barkley and Kone available for the central forward positions.

You want to sell our leading goalscorer?

To buy a CB?

10m from Europa?

We will lose abar 10m when we finish 16th, we wont get past the group stage in Europa, so will make about 25p.

The future is full of doom, gloom and a CB pairing of Jags and Distin.

I dont have problem with him. I think he's decent enough and have said so - apparently it's not enough to be as measured as that in your comments about him. I have to say he's great I think.
No mate, but I believe you'd rather see him leave the team cuz he's not up to standard that one season that Moyes played him on the wing where he obviously shouldn't ever play, and in your mind he's still stuck there.

But you're still being a pleb about this anyway, and because it's who you are - you won't stop.

Better make a post about him deserving all the abuse he gets from Rangers again, like you did a while back. x

How many times was Coleman 'grim' at RB? He certainly didn't take a season to get a handle on that role. In fact, Coleman is a good example of how if you have a bit of talent you should be able to adapt to an alien position...which is what he did when Moyes played him on the right side of midfield.

I dont know what it is I'm being petitioned to do here. Have I got to agree with people when they say Naismith is suited to more than one position when it's obvious to me at least that he's a player that has one position to play?

Right-mid was the position I said in my post in which he was often found lacking, not right-back. He struggles to beat a man in the way McGeady or Deulofeu can, in a one-on-one and he didn't have the ability to pick a through ball like Pienaar so when he came up against a right back who could match his pace, he often looked terrible. We can't get into a discussion about Coleman's development in here obviously, but he's the example I used.

You're not being petitioned to do anything. People aren't taking issue with you saying Naismith is decent. I disagreed with the idea that Naismith owes us good performances to make up for his bad ones and that people are trying to get you to call Naismith a superb player. No one is.

Leave Dave alone you monster, hes made his mind up about Nais and no amount of goals or MOTM performances will change that view.

I admire his loyalty.

Or......... We keep Naismith and just get a cracking cb anyway as we should be able to bring in players without selling anyone important ( a bit like this summer ).

I don't know about selling him, not unless the price is silly. Great squad players with top class attitudes are harder yo come by than you'd think. Hopefully the tv money for next year will be enough to buy a class CB.

Yes. Selling Steven Naismith for over 10 million in order to add funds for our need for a quality centre back would be absolutely fine by me.

Yes, English clubs reaching around the quarter finals from the Europa League can expect to receive in excess of 10 million pounds.

This Summers spending was the warchest we saved from selling everybody the last Summer.

There will be no warchest next Summer, all funds will have to be generated from player sales and prize money, its a massive gamble the board have undertaken. We perform how we normally do in the league and get a good run in the Europa and we have lots of leeway, we underperform in the league, Europa and the cups and we are looking at a massive firesale just to stay afloat.

Leedserton.

And whos gonna play in the hole when we sell Nais and Osman retires? Barkley on his own?

Yep we have an extra 35 million coming our way next season, and an extra 35 million coming our way the season after that. So, yes I agree we should be able to buy a boss CB without selling players. But we are talking about Kenwright's Everton here, and besides, I think selling an almost 28 year old Naismith next Summer for anything over 10 million would be very good business that would give us more room to strengthen the first 11.

We only have an extra 33m* if we finish 5th again, every place less than that means a 1m less, plus reduced TV apps money.
