Davek has opinions and views, which some don't agree with, i don't agree with his Naismith stance, but they are his views and just because you don't agree with them doesn't mean he's an attention seeker.

I remember a post Davek made that was spot on, in his criticism of Moyes. About his negative tactics, the way he deals with the press etc amongst various other things as well as having a dig at the board for their incompetence.

It was really well argued and all the points in it were valid, wether you agreed with every one of them or not but in many of his other posts, he goes from making intelligent points to just slamming Moyes\Kenwright for the sake of it over stuff that is not their fault.

He had a go at Moyes in this post for signing 'utility players'. (how can you have a go at Moyes for signing versatile players when we have next to no money?) popcorn??

Said in another thread that Everton haven't achieved anything under Moyes. So qualifying for the Champions League, the Europa League, and getting to a Cup final as well as beating teams that spend more than us in the transfer market over a long period of time means nothing.

If posts like those aren't popcorn I don't know what is.

Maybe it's just his passion for Everton coming through in his posts, I don't know.

We haven't won a trophy and in 20 years time I won't look back and go, "Ohhhh we reached a Cup-final" so with that he has a point.

If you think qualifying for the qualifying round of the Champions League and being runners up/semi finalists and in the last 32 of the Europa League as success then that's your view, but I would argue Davek is right about that, we haven't won anything - so no, that isn't popcorning.

To be honest there are multiple cliques on here, but Davek swims his own way. He is anti the board and Anti BK and a touch anti Moyes. Think he can be quite extreme in his view but rarely if ever gets personal. Well respected as a poster on here, albeit I disagree with many of hs views, or at least the extremity of them.

Thanks for the info.

I find Davek's posts entertaining to read, if a bit on the extreme side.

I think a lot of them are tongue in cheek though, which is why I mentioned the popcorning.

We'll just have to agree to disagree Cena.

Anyway it isn't a Moyes or Davek thread.

I honestly think it is a decent signing in Naismith, time will tell and for now its another body in the squad. He is about the calibre of player we can get in without money at the minute.

Success is relative.

I'm glad you and Davek aren't on the board then because you'd be sacking managers every 3 years because they haven't won anything, despite our lack of money.

To expect us to win trophy's competing against teams that spend multiple times more than we do every season, in the transfer market, is pointless. Hope for it, yes, but to expect it?

I'm not sure what planet you're living on.

Just my 2 cents worth ( all i can afford) I can see where Davek is coming from but i feel he is reliving a bygone age in some regards. Loyalty to a club or a company went out the window a long time ago. Wheter it is the economic climate or a change in values, perhaps both, but for the most part people will do what is best for them. Companies will lay ppl off without a second thought with regards to length of service or contributions made as will any sports organisation let alone football. People as well will go where they feel more secure financially or feel is in their best interests. This time it worked out well for Everton next time boot may be on the other foot, all one can do is shrug your shoulders and move on and realise we no longer live in a society where loyalty is paramount.

I live on Earth lad

Middlesborough, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Blackburn all won trophy's since Moyes has been in charge, Boro & Fulham got to European Finals.

I don't want Moyes sacked, nor do I want him to go, but he is not immune from criticism and when it comes to the big games that matter the most he has failed, and in the history of Everton Football Club we determine success of trophies won and we subscribe to NSNO, not on if we finished in the top 10 a few seasons.

But I forget history and tradition mean nothing to you

Haha love how all of those clubs except fulham have been relegated.

Also we have been doing better than fulham for the majority of seasons, way better than them.

HAHAHA yeh dead funny mate even relegated clubs winning trophies before us.

Maybe they won because they overloaded and were not stable enough, unlike Everton under Moyes which has been very consistent. As I recall birmingham got relegated the season they won their trophy, I guarantee any of those fans would rather be in the premier league then win one of those cups

I'm not anti-Moyes, I hope he stays in charge, but when it comes to the big games winning when it matters he fails, fact.

How many of those cup winning managers would you prefer to have managing our club?

Not many I'd guess.

I agree Moyes shouldn't be immune from criticism. I don't like a lot of things he does myself but it should be fair criticism.

But I forget history and tradition mean nothing to you

I want the club to be successful again. If the only way we can compete with the London\Manchester clubs financially means we have to share with our rivals then it's something I'd prefer to do than stay in our stadium, with no chance of winning silverware.

He has won all the big games that have guaranteed our place in the premier league ;)

but i agree he needs to get the players to stand up during the biggest games

Being in the Premier League is a given for Everton, so he should be winning those games that keep us our status. Boom we finally reach middle ground on something at least!

Anyway, Naismith?
