Davek is important to this place.

Anyway, I'm a little surprised by people being excited by this signing. Yes he's free, yes we need bodies, yes he's looked alright in Scotland, but I can't see much more than that.

I hope he's ace of course. But a bit of caution wouldn't go a miss here.

How is it at all like Pienaar's situation? Pienaar saw his contract out.

I love the way some delude themselves that this is alright but if an Everton player did it they'd be looking to put a rope around his neck and throw it over a tree.

The Rangers fans are calling him 'Paysmith', Judas and 'the wee rat'. Let's have it right shall we.

Naismith signed a contract with a Scottish premier league side. He played for them as did his team mates for a Premier League side who did their job and stayed in that division and competed for Europe along with his team mates.

Now the stuff behind the scenes with the people who run the club have ****ed that up. Rangers being demoted or whatever has got nothing to do with the players at all. Therefore I see no reason why they cant leave as they have been sold a false job. Its no different from any other job, if you take a job and then one day they relocate you and give you a totally different job you would be well in your rights to complain and bugger off.

I usually agree with most of what you say but I think you are well out on this one. Just my personal opinion like.

They're paid, it's a job. If you're company folded and another better company offered you more lucrative terms would you go? Oh wait no you'd stay since you're folded company has "developed" you. Not arsed, if I was offered more money in a better league I'd go (unless it was Everton).

I can see Dave's point but what goes around does indeed come around. We've been f*cked off before too and if you take the moral highground, you're only f*cking yourself over even more.

I feel sorry for the Rangers fans and I'll understand any of them who are pissed off at us and Naismith, but I'm sorry, we've got to put ourselves first. The only thing fair in football is Phil Neville's hair.

So Nick Barmby, Rooney and Lescott are forgiven now? (Players by the way who's actions were less reprehensible than the runaways).

M<ugged by Newcastle iver Gosling? I think you might have misunderstood what happened there: our incompetency in signing him up meant he walked because his contract had run down. Chalk and cheese.
...oh, and two wrongs and all that...

Rangers aren't incompetent?

That's not what I'm saying. You're right, if the situation was reversed we'd hate Naismith and we'd be pissed at Rangers.

But the situation is not reversed. We get f*cked fairly often, so if we refuse to partake in the reverse when fortune (or misfortune) presents an opportunity, we're going to suffer.

And he walked away because rangers ****ed up due to their own incompetancy.

Oh we were bumbling all right... I mean, it's not as if we set out to defraud the government, ceased to exist and negated any contracts we had before Dan walked away to the Barcodes... Nope, we did that old fashioned "our word is our bond, handshake is an agreement" principled type of thing, with all of the old fashioned honour and integrity that you've been mourning so vociferously in this thread.

... and then we got bum-raped
